It was extremely hot! Dirt roads were not so kind to my Polo but I had a great time and the highlight was watching 2 families of hyenas with pups. Got some nice photos. I pray that good rains come to the area soon.

Absolute fantastic. Bungalows very very clean, peaceful,no load music, no hooting and just the sound of animals. Will definitely go more often. The person at shops and bungalows were absolute helpful and friendly as well as Mrs. Astleigh Pannell, her friendly and helpful manner when booking trips.

Spent 5 days at Pretoriuskop. Loved the camp. Staff were friendly and helpful. The kitchen and ablutions were always clean. The Wimpy staff were even lovely. We saw the Big 5 twice driving between Pretoriuskop and Skukuza. Pretoriuskop has to be my favourite camp.

I was a bit apprehensive about the shared ablutions and kitchen, but was pleasantly surprised. We loved it so much that I think I will opt for these huts again next time. Hot water on tap for coffee, ...ablutions were really close and kept clean. Only frustration was no plug for chargers etc - have to pull plug out from fridge to charge phones. Bring a multi-plug with you! A bit disappointing to find a Wimpy in the Kruger, but they have done a good job to make it fit in.

Skukuza is always great but more so because of the fantastic half marathon -the best in the country - was simply an amazing weekend - Thank you so much for allowing us to run in the park - what a treat!!

We were most impressed with the service. First the booking was done quickly and easily despite it being a public holiday weekend. We were grateful to get accommodation. Your staff at the Croc Bridge entrance were most efficient, again despite their being a huge queue of cars. Having prebooked we were ushered through quickly and efficiently. A star performance by all, including the animals.

We stayed in a Hut and it was just lovely. It was bigger than the Hut we stayed in in Lower Sabie. It could sleep 3. It was clean and tidy and it was cleaned every day. The amenities that we could use (cooking stove, BBQ, ablution facilities) were all great. All in all the accommodation was a better experience than Lower Sabie We did not eat at the Wimpy restaurant so we can not comment on the food or service.

Excellent service from safari.com, Pretoriuskop is a lovely camp, no thorn trees which is great for kids, family cottage is spacious, well equipped and has a lovely view over bush, we sat on the porch and saw many different bird species.

It was almost full when we booked, so what was available was to simple huts, three beds in each and no toilet facilities int he room. The rooms were, though, clean and simple. Wish there had been little better lighting (only one bulb for the whole room). The toilets/showers were very clean and the whole camp seemed nice and tidy. Great location for long and short safaris and staff was nice and friendly. For people (like us) who did not travel with proper camping-equipment, the on-site restaurant was a disappointment, as it is a "Wendys", but hey! They served better food than the restaurant in Berg-En-Del, so maybe not so bad after all...... Price for the rooms were not bad at all.

I was using Australian dollars and so was extremely good value. Road from white river to Numbi gate had huge detours but was quite manageable. Pretoriouskop camp was great, nice and clean and uncomplicated with all the basics (the way I like it) recent fires and re growth meant an amazing amount of game including baby leopard, overall very happy.

2 of us stayed in a small hut at Pretoriuskop for 2 nights. My booking was late for school holidays, so we had a 2-bed hut the first night and more space in the 3-bed hut next day. No problem at all about ablutions and kitchen being a short walk away. The boiling hot water was perfect for making early morning coffee! And bathrooms very clean. Definitely great service and I will return! Thanks

The chalets were basic but comfortable, the bathrooms were clean. The tour guide for the night drive was sensational!. That area of the park it was difficult to see animals, because the area is very rocky and the grass tends to be very high, on saying that on our way out we spotted a great amount of different animals really up close. We didn't have time to chill out by the pool, but the pool is sensational. Try to keep some spare time to enjoy it!

Very pleasant campsite. Clean and well kept. Ablution Facilities very clean. Shower taps may need upgrading. having a wimpy as the "Restaurant" was a bit of a disappointment. Shop was well stocked and we could buy all the supplies we needed. Firewood was a bit expensive. Overall a very good experience!

Smallest of all rest camps. best run, all sites numbers. Aaron was a great help and a breath of fresh air, I would expect that all camp site are run this way. Campers were more friendly, I think they know the rules are enforced. the best day got to see most of the animals and the big 5.

Our visit was very nice, The staff was friendly, the campsite was clean and we had awesome sightings. We went on a night drive that was extremely nice, and the guide was very knowledgeable. The only problem we had was with the ablution blocks. After we showered the wall floor was wet and it was quite uncomfortable. But I will certainly encourage tourist to visit the camp.

It was very bad paying extra for an adult and then not getting a bed but only a mattress.The extra payment should not be the same as the camps where beds are supplied.The stoves at the rondavels need urgent attention as they are terribly slow to warm up.

I am not keen on the "First Come First Served" policy for camp sites. We have a Penta and battled to find a site tht we could fit in as most of the sites were already full when we arrived. Otherwise we had a pleasant enough time.

I had a good trip and stayed at the various Camping Sites. The roads both Tar and Dirt are in very poor condition from all my previous vists as thus able to make this comment, if in normal cars be aware of this especially on the Dirt Roads, I eventually stayed off them and missed a lt of viewing. The camps are getting run down, but the people are good and very helpful. I was disappointed that the camp Sites are not controlled and others take up more space that they are allocated or just used up two Sites and people were forced to miss out, others were obviously taking up two Power Points for Electricity and I had to miss out depite alsing them to unplug one Lead, rude and uncaring but them Kruger should police this aspect. There is a lot of noice in the Camps despite being asked to tone it down, Radios - Generator and boozing into the nights. Another Camping Only site had a couple with visitors and the loud attitude was not appreciated, we are there to the wild life and experice the wild night life, not some afrikaans couple shouting screaming their heads off and not caring when several others asked them quiet down.Over all a good trip despite the poor road attitude in blocking bother sides of the road when they see something of interest and others either cannot get a look in or pass them, another real difficulty.wsould I go again YES YES YES, but be aware and make some plans.

Only upon arrival at Pretoriuskop were we informed that the restaurant was closed. The hot plate in our bungalow was not working.

The overall experience was really great. It was amazing to see the Kruger for the first time. We spent a lot of time driving around, and really loved the countryside around Pretoriuskop.

Good day,There was only one braai facility for two camping sites. There was only 1 water tap for 4 stands together. The bathrooms also needs an urgent clean. Cleaning of showers - big problem.

Very clean, staff handled power cut superbly visiting each chalet with concern and smiles. Poor towel quality. Should be renewed more frequently in hospitality business! I don't mean washed.....new!

People working in the park are really nice. The food menu in the restaurants could be a little more developed. The bungalow in Lower Sabie was overpriced comparing to the general condition of the place. It was anyway a fantastic experience and I will go back anytime !!

The service was not good, very slow and I dont think the people are trained well. We had to stand in lines for long times, although there were not many people in front of us. I think there must be a seperate line for people checking out, who then need not have to stand in the line for long merely to have a quick stamp.We went on a sunset drive and the driver was rude to the children (we dont have children), and he did not always stop when guests asked him to (he merely ignored them). The drive is also on the same routes that we can drive- we thought we would be taken special routes where we could possibly see more animals (lions, etc), which is something that we could have been informed before we booked the trip.Other than that, the huts were nice and clean, and the cleaning staff was friendly. The bathrooms were clean, however, the baths did not have plugs, neither did the wash basins.

My wife and I love the Kruger National Park and we go there as often as we can. We spent two nights at Pretoriuskop Restcamp and we really enjoyed ourselves. The chalets are most probably the most spacious of what we have experienced in all the restcamps. The chalet was clean, spacious and all the utensils were available. Will definetely go back there some time!!

Good value - as for Berg-en-Dal; though bungalow a bit more "basic" - outdoor fridge on terrace rather a pain, and neighboring bungalows a bit close together. Also some kind of lighting for braai would be appreciated.We ate in "The Tree" restaurant one evening: not exactly a gourmet experience, though food was OK. I think SANP need to think how best to offer catering, given relatively low usage (most SA families prefer to braai!)and hence difficulty in predicting client numbers. Perhaps give up attempting to offer a full restaurant "experience" and go for simple "coffee shop" style: it's half-way there already!

ONE BIG PROBLEM - As we come from Marloth Park, I expect to HEAR lions or hyena at night. NOTHING! that is very disappointing! I am smack IN the park but HEAR nothing...sniff.Further more our stay was wonderful at the camp, highly recommended. WE did see a klipspringer on top of mountain and animals were very few. BUT THEN we made it a scenery journey instead. Saw eagles and the bush is beautiful and to see all the little dry rivers having water is fantastic. Thanks again

The booking process was smooth and easy. The camp was clean and quiet. We loved the pool and braaing each evening. We saw many incredible sightings! When we arrived we found the reception staff to be less than friendly, though they said the right things it was said with absolutely no expression. We ate at the restaurant one evening and found the food extremely expensive for the quality. The chips were cold and stale and the pizza was not great either. When having a shower the water would go very hot and then very cold sporadically. It was not nice and I can imagine that being very uncomfortable in winter. I would stay at the camp again but would love to see these few issues addressed.

The bungalow was neat but I just felt that some attention can be given to new bedding and curtains. The one's that are used looks old and dirty. Then I was also very disappointed with the Restaurant! The seating outside was dirty and wasn't even tied to the chairs. The staff were very laid back and the smell coming out of the kitchen left me not wanting to eat at the restaurant. The Kruger is one of our biggest tourist attractions and the standards are dropping for me over the years. It is sad.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay but as we were there for Old Years Eve we felt a dinner of some sort should have been planned. It could have been a prepaid dinner so that the restuarant has an idea before the evening of what to expect. We felt the evening was quite dead and with teenage children they felt it was a very boring evening.

My wife and I found the facilities to be superb and well maintained. The Pretorius swimming pool with changing rooms / toilets is not to be missed. We went on every type of tour for a perfect introduction to Kruger that will see us coming back often. Thanks!

The trip to Kruger was ok. I started my stay at Lower Sabie and then moved to Pretoriuskop. The camp was clean and the room was ok, especially the pool, its like a natural spring. The only problem in Kruger camps is their restaurants, prices are too high compared to the food that they are offering. They need to upgrade to match the standard of the restaurants like Steers, Spur and others or why can't they be allowed to come and sell their food at camps if they can't upgrade. I think they are ripping people off. Think about that. Also their conservation fee is expensive for South African Citizens, R62 per person per day. The best moment at Kruger is when I spot a leopard and cub & lion pride eating a zebra that they killed during the night at the road between Lower Sabi and Crocodile Bridge. Overall the trip was ok.

We saw Sable. We also saw Elephant, Rhino, Hippo, giraffe and impala with their new babies. Amazing sight! Added to that were many wonderful bird sightings. The Sabie river drive was the highlight for us, where we saw brown-headed parrots. On the way back to camp we had an excellent Bateleur eagle sighting, in a tree on the road side - awesome! However just sitting on our patio we saw several interesting birds like the woodland kingfishers and cardinal woodpeckers. A lovely trip. Thank you.

The fact that their was no facilities like a stove in the chalet and no pots and pans make it difficult. The toilets at the offices(not in the chalets) can be better. Not all was working. Swimming pool one of the best all though not always clean.

We found the accommodation and staff at each camp extremely willing, polite and friendly. The rooms were clean and fresh. Air cons need some attention tho. the food was not great. Choice limited and quality poor. we had pizza which was tasteless, hamburger which really was shocking, steak, egg and chips...steak could not find it was so small , pies not too bad. Also food very expensive. Definitely needs some attention in this department. Otherwise stay fantastic.

We had a great stay, only one incident when our campsite power box had a problem on Christmas evening. I went to the reception with little hope that anybody will respond to my problem but it was resolved within 20 minutes. Thanks for the staff at Pretoriuskop for their friendly help. The ablutions are cleaned daily but its always wet and dirty. Maybe they could put up a notice to urge every person using the shower to clean up the water after showering. Actually this is a basic hygiene lesson every parent should teach their children.

Pretoriuskop rest camp is an ideal place for a quick break away.The staff are very friendly and helpful. The only thing that needs improvement is the kitchen - some of the stoves are outdated and don't work properly. The camp could also open a bit later to allow people more time if they want to do evening game drives,18h30 is still light and most animals are only coming out around that time.

We chose Pretoriuskop as we could spend all 3 nights in the same location. It is a nice size of Camp compared to Skukuza which is huge. Accommodation Self Catering was fine and adequate. As we were traveling around SA we did not have all the necessary to be independent. We ate at the restaurant twice and fashioned a meal from the shop on the third. The restaurant food was not very good. We gather it is catered out. Would suggest changing the caterer. Shop was well stocked and the boerewors that we bought and cooked was the best boere we had in all our 3 months in SA!Game spotting was tricky with the long lush green grass. In most places you had to see the animal on the road or very close to it or have someone else spot it and arrive while it was still close.We went on 2 game drives one early morning 4 - 7 and an evening 5 - 8. In both cases we had Pat who was terrific, great knowledge and wicked sense of humour. The part of the drive in the dark did not work well as the grass again was so high and hard to spot anything. Great being so high up so you can see above the grass compared to being in our rented Corolla!All the staff were very polite and helpful. Possible negative was the location of PKop relative to the other camps. Skukuza is much better located in the middle, easy to get to Satara Lower Sabi and even Crocodile Bridge and Malelane.Overall a wonderful 4 days in the Park

We loved our stay at the Kruger National Park. This is our third time and we had a great time as always. I would however recommend that the crockery and all kitchen utensils and appliances gets checked on a regular basis before the guests gets checked in. We were short of a few items, eg bread knife, mixing/salad bowls, etc. Otherwise it was a wonderful experience overall. Thank you!

Our stay at Pretoriuskop was ok....the grounds need a lot of work. The gardens is not in good condition,the ablutions were not clean. The dustbins outside the huts need to be replaced,they are not animal proof like the ones in the other camps! The monkeys were running around with plastic bags from the dustbins,some of the dustbins did not even have covers...

We enjoyed the smoothness of entering, booking in and checking out at Numbi Gate and Pretorius Kop. Our forms were completed on arrival. The first time in the Park over the mid-summer period, quite surprised on what we saw. The pool is a bit far away for myself being a disabled, to get there on crutches, as there is no marked casual parking near the pool, can understand that, cause we are there to view game not to swim. But overall, excellent.

Enjoyed our stay very much at Pretoriuskop! Just didn't have long enough lead for power points - think it will be better if 2 sites next to each other share a power point with 2 sites opposite, instead of 4 sites next to each other sharing power point as it is at the moment. People must bring an adapter that will fit a caravan powerpoint fitting - we had to buy one at the shop, which was an unexpected expense. Bathrooms were clean all the time and enjoyed swimming pool very much. Also saw a lot of animals. Worth wile - will go back again!

Would have preferred a place to sit outside our rondavel and a light near the braai. The beds were very comfy! The sunset drive was enjoyable but at certain stages felt the rattling of the vehicle must have scared off any animals.

I made a booking in Feb 2011 for our family of 8 people in 2 EB3 and 1 EB2 huts, with the request of them being close together for cooking together and visiting purposes. On arrival at Pretoriuskop on 2 Oct we were informed that our accommodation, especially the 2 EB3 huts, were far apart AND that we would have to move on day 2 of our stay there. After traveling from Cape Town by plane and another 6 hours from Jo'burg by car, we were exhausted and not pleased with this news as we looked forward to 'at last' settling down close together with our family. We managed, but did not appreciate the inconvenience of having to fetch and carry our cooking utensils and chairs around for the first day and then having to move again so soon. As we would not be able to visit the Kruger National Park again soon, we hoped for a more client friendly system the one time we did manage to go there.The other problem we had, is that our gas cooker connection pipe were stolen by a cleaner or some one with access to our EB3 hut on the 2nd or 3rd day. We informed the office, and the lady took very friendly notice of the theft, but no one came back to us with information or even a 'sorry' afterward. We inquired again before leaving the camp but our pipe has 'of course' not been returned and we could not cook any further food on our gas braai.

We as a family had a wonderful week in the Kruger National Park residing at Pretoriuskop for the whole week. ( 2 x 3 bed chalets with communal kitchen and communal bathrooms). We have to commend the staff at Pretoriuskop. They were always friendly and helpful, while the ablutions were kept very clean despite all the people. Keep up the good work! (To mention my son forgot his wallet on the bed with all his money one day. When we arrived back the wallet was still on his,now made up, bed with all the money intact.)The pap and Kudu wors really went down well at Afsaal while the service and food at the restaurant in Pretoriuskop was also excellent.On the negative side: There is really a big problem at Nkuhlu picnic spot with the baboons. We had to abandon, as most of the other visitors, our plans to make breakfast. The baboons terrorise the visitors, grabbing food from their cars,from their hands and from their tables. Some people tried to complain at the shop but they could not be helped because it is not their field of work. I'm sure the game ranger of that area should know of the problem. We actually have a video of a large baboon grabbing a packet of crisps from a boy's hand.Secondly the gravel roads inside the park is in a terrible state. The corrugations are such that we had to change our trips to mainly tar roads. ( we did about 1200km inside the park during the 6 day stay) On previous visits to the park the gravel roads were in a much better state despite being in peak holiday times.Despite this we had a wonderful holiday and have already made our bookings for next year.

We had a wonderful stay in all three camps, Pretoriuskop, Lower Sabie and Skukuza. We saw the big five on three occasions. We came very close to elephants with small calves and on one drive at Lower Sabie we saw a leopard walking in the road in front of us with no other car near us. At sunset dam Lower Sabie we saw hippos mating,What a experience. We were also lucky to see a couple of Lichtenstein's hartebeest very close to the road at Pretoriuskop. We had a wonderful trip but have two issues which I think the authorities need to pay attention to;1) Litter - We only travelled in the south of the Park but the litter along all roads was appalling. I know that this is a problem but it needs to be addressed. It is evident that this is not all new trash and is extremely hazardous for both flora and fauna in addition to being unsightly for visitors. We sat at a Lion sighting and around us was a Beer can, Savannah bottle, Simba chip packet and a paper coffee cup.2) Behaviour of visitors in the Park. I have a lot of photographic evidence (a few attached)of children sitting on windows, adults hanging out of windows and even one idiot standing outside his vehicle videoing on an iPpad with lions 10m away. In the eight days we were in the Park I saw one speed camera and one park ranger loading a dead Kudu that had been hit by a vehicle close to P/Kop. Otherwise no evidence of Park management.I am sure that the majority of visitors would be willing to assist with reporting these incidents if there was an efficient mechanism to do so. Also make use of the numerous concession operators with radio communication to manage the problem.Otherwise the staff were all friendly and polite and we will return. Thanks

At both camps I was disappointed about equipment, the 1st one no kettle, cutlery etc,2nd one at least a kettle (not electric) and a few cutlery. As we had come from England we did not have these items, so had to dine out at all times. Could have been told about the railway station only found it on our last night.As usual the park and animals were excellent.

Found the hut too small and too close to each other therefore no privacy. Ladies ablutions were out of order and shop did not have a crockery basket to hire. Shop had no cutlery either. Won't return to Pretoriuskop.

The rest camps that we visited were very nice and the services were excellent. Travelling on our own in Kruger was easy and safe. We enjoyed planning our Safaris driving our rental car.

I had a wonderful stay at Pretoriuskop, I was a bit disappointed with the restaurant, the food was not nice and the drinks are not included in the menu. For me that's unprofessional. My overall stay was awesome and I love the Kruger. If I had enough money I would visit every month.

We had a lovely stay and camping experience. We are regular park visitors. However the parking official at Skukuza should take a bit consideration for campers with babies as it is not always easy to walk from the top office down to the shop on hot summer day and when we were dropped off after helping a family with another baby whose car broke down, the official shouts from distance that we're not allowed with a caravan in an offensive way. Despite this we renewed our wild card in May and every time since this when we enter the park there is a problem that the card is expired. When if ever will we get our new wild cards?

The booking of the Kruger Nat Park was very professional. Carien du Plessis always answered all my requests immediately. Thanks a million for that. I will definitely in future book through you again.Personally our trip was fantastic as we were 3 sisters with their husbands and we had great fun. Saw lots of animals. The Chalets and camp are very clean and all gardens are well kept! We also met Richard at Phambeni gate and although it was a Sunday and the venue to My Acre for Africa was closed, he organised a driver Alberta and Moses, a Game ranger in an hour to take us to My Acre of Africa to go and find our Bricks which was laid there a few years ago. This was excellent service and this was one of our highlights of our short visit. My complaint however is that the receptionists at the gates at the offices are not friendly at all. They look bored, very unhappy and actually looked like robots! This is so unfortunate as there are millions of tourists all over the world and we all need to know that we are most welcome in this World Wide tourist destination. I was also shocked at the utterly bad service at the restaurant in Skukuza. Bad service, not organised, terrible menu and actually quite dirty where we eventually just got up after 20 min waiting for anything to happen. I have been visiting the park through my work for years and I really thought it was much better now in 2011, but it is worse. Bad bad bad. I would also suggest that the interior of the chalets needs a bit of work and new duvets and curtains could just do it! Some shelves in the bathroom? Wow we had such a huge bathroom, but nowhere to place anything. Our chalet nr 41 if I remember correctly was lovely. 2 Chalets with a bathroom in the middle. Great!

The overall condition of the camp facilities have deteriorated badly over the past 10 years, or so. The a la carte restaurant is a disgrace with the tables and chairs in dire need of replacement. Surely, table cloths are not to much to ask for, considering the poor condition and appearance of the tables. Foreign visitors to whom I spoke, during my stay, expressed shock at the appearance of the restaurant and the unappetizing way in which food is presented. The curtains in the rondavel that I stayed in were similarly not hanging correctly, with the ends of the curtains not even having hooks, to hang the curtains on the curtain rail. The walls of the rondavel are badly in need of being washed, to remove grime marks and the floor is badly in need of repainting. The total deterioration of the previously grassed areas between the the buildings have now, all but disappeared and the lack of garden maintenance is quite tragic. What used to be lush green lawns in the years gone by, is now barren dusty ground. Surely, if South Africa wants to keep attracting foreign tourists, then the facilities in its nature reserves need to be maintained to a much better standard. Kindly note, that I do not refer to the cleanliness in the camp, with which there is no issue. The issue is with the lack of ongoing maintenance and replacement of badly worn furniture, especially in the restaurant area. I trust that my feedback will be seen as being positive as I am a proud South African, who is rather concerned about the deterioration of our most cherished nature reserve (in my opinion), the Kruger National Park.

We really enjoyed our stay, the staff at all the camps we visited were so friendly and helpful as well as the entrance gate staff. The camp sites were well laid out and the ablutions kept clean. Our only less than satisfactory experience was on the Night Drive. The guide is not very experienced as my own sister is a guide, busy completing FGASA levels to be a game ranger and through her and our own lives growing up always going to parks, we know our animals and the do's and don'ts. When we came across a scrub hare, he tells the guests that it is a rabbit and tastes like chicken. This is not a very well thought out description for an animal that is not a rabbit as the most common difference is that the hare's ears are twice or so longer than a rabbit's and the only trait he can think up is that it tastes like chicken? He also told us before we started the game drive that he cant find the animals and needs to drive, that being a guide is really hard. I must say that our game drives in other parks were much more entertaining and well done and we were a little disappointed in this one. Other than that, we loved our stay!

We stayed in a small hut / room with three beds. Although the room looked small, we had enough space and had a lovely stay. I liked the Pretoriuskop restcamp, and will stay there again. I loved the individual braai areas and the well stocked shop. We had lunch at Satara, a bit disappointing, the game pie was made earlier in the day and re-heated. It left the crust soft and very chewy. Rather the kitchen should prepare it and bake it upon request (or get tips from King Pie).All in all a great stay, we saw a lot of animals and birds, and all of the big five.A word on the communial kitchen - as first time visitors we did not know what to expect, please indicate on the website that this actually only translates into a communial hotplate and kitchen sink. No oven, no microwave.Regards

The return to Pretoriuskop was to an older hut that was not yet refurbished and this was perhaps the "low" point of the visit, although in no terms unacceptable. Although the hut is quite worn and the bedding and drapes quite old and tired, it was still acceptable and at no point did we feel like complaining, perhaps in part due to the fact that we had such a good time spotting game.

The first night in Pretoriuskop, we were in a renovated hut and we found it very adequate for the price. The ablutions were clean, the hut was well serviced and clean and although quite small, we managed well.The restaurant was not haute cuisine, but that is not what one would expect from a restaurant in a setting such as Kruger. The prices were affordable and the food was more than adequate, both in quantity and quality.

Always liked this camp. Just the restaurants are a letdown, and very far from international standards.At Satara for lunch, I had to stand in a queue to order parts of the meal, I had to give an order to a waiter for another part of the meal and pay for drinks at a till cash and order coffee from someone else. Chaos! I have never had to deal with four separate people to purchase lunch for two and then have to hunt for a fifth person for ten minutes to be able to pay the bill. This has to represent an organisation on the brink of financial disaster.

It is always nice to visit the Park,but it started to get expensive to visit specially for our older people. No paperbags any more when you enter no Wild magazines???? The field arround Pretorius kop was burned so there was no wild and you had to travel wide to see something. The Park must start to look at the campsites as it is over used and not easy to get your caravan level as this is very importent for your frigde. They also put up some poles to mark the stands and that is causing a problem to get into the stand with a caravan why did the not marked the pavements with the numbers.At Pretoriuskop is a area for tents but the visitors put up their tents in the caravan erea so there is not enough space to get in with a caravan and it is not nice to stand for a couple of days if you are not satisfied with you stand and sometimes the tented people only uses a stand to overnight, and remember the tent erea has no powerpoints and people with caravans had to stand there because there was no other place.

We moved from Satara Camp after x1 week to Pretorius Camp. We have been visiting the Kruger National park yearly for the past 7yrs. However, we find that the shops/restaurant are tooo PRICEY. Not sure if we would be able to afford it again. Taking into mind that people travel far to visit your parks, petrol/diesel etc etc and when we arrive at the park we cannot afford to purchase snacks, souveniers etc etc. We also noted that the different camps visited on this trip have definitely gone down regarding upkeeping and so on. Rather sad but true. Not sure if we will visit Pretorius Kop again????All in all we still love the Park.Please cut prices, we want to support the Camps, cafeterias and restaurants more.

My wife Joan is sadly suffering from terminal cancer. Our total 16 day trip was to fulfill her ambition to show our children and grandchildren around the places she lived and played in before we married in Nelspruit and came to the UK to work 1963. WE were a party of ten and the grandchildren never stop talking about the Kruger Park.We were affected by the strike when we reached Graskop which was disappointing have spent so much money to get there. I was interviewed by SABC at Gods Window about the strike and I understand it went out on television.My wife met up with 25 members of her South African families. Had a lovely stay, overall very happy. Only one improvement on the utensils in the little outside kitchenette. The bare minimum is supplied and never had essentials like a tin opener. I feel they should equip the kitchen a little better.

The stay at Kruger was great. The accommodation was clean and adequate. It would be great if each self catering unit had at least one pot or frying pan and some tea cups though. We were lucky to spot a Cheetah on the edge of the road on our way out of the reserve. However, it was disappointing to see only two of the big five, even after doing a night drive. I suppose, it was our bad luck.Thank you to the Kruger staff for making our stay a good one. Pat who took us on the night drive was very good. He took us on an informative tour.

The accomodation was good. Alkthough I want to propose that Pretoriuskop is ideal fir an waterhole with lights (as it is in Okaukou in Etosha) Especialy that you must ride to Skukuza and Onder Sabie to see more wild amnamals. Such night waterhole wiull put Pretoriuskop on the map. The roads surrounding Pretoriuskop is very boring

Men's toilets urinals had a leak which was reported but not attended to during our stay.We had to ask for pillow cases as there were none on the beds.Staff in office not very helpful if you want to upgrade,although there were quite a few unoccupied chalets during our stay.Otherwise enjoyable.

Men's toilets urinals had a leak which was reported but not attended to during our stay.We had to ask for pillow cases as there were none on the beds.Staff in office not very helpful if you want to upgrade,although there were quite a few unoccupied chalets during our stay.Otherwise enjoyable.

A very nice park but if you ask me the conservation fee for foreigners is expensive. I think that R140 per day is far too much. For his reason we decided to leave one day earlier. I think it is logical to ask a fee on the moment that you arrive at the first gate in to Kruger. But not for everyday that you are there. And also the fact that you can not get money in every atm as a foreigner. We had to drive from pretoriuskop to skukuza just to get money. And it was not the road we would have liked to take the first day.

Lovely relaxing time in Pretorius Kop Camp. Although there is not much viewing in the immediate vicinity, Skukuza and Lower Sabie is not that far away, that is where we saw most the animals on the trip. The facilities in the camp was spotless, the staff was super courteous, and we would happily do the same again. Thanks Krugerpark dot com for arranging this for us.

The camp is much more relaxed as Skukuza. The toilet facilities are much better kept. I will in future rather visit the less known camps. It has that wildlife experience feeling to it.

We enjoyed the stay in the caravan park next to the fence and find the visit of the elephant on the other side of the fence at night exciting. We were disappointed when we asked to extend our stay in the camp for one night from 1 July to 2 July and was informed that there were no camping sites available. We left Pretoriuskop at 17h00 when there were still three open places where we camped. I don't know how occupied the other sites were at that stage.

this camp was great! not a lot of animals but it was beautiful. the staff were friendly and the amblution was clean! the room was clean and alot of packing and places to hang stuff! the braai was clean and the swimming pool is so beautiful!

The stay at Pretoriuskop went without hickups. We enjoyed it although the bathrooms were very far from the place we placed our tent.When we left through Numbi Gate we spent about an hour to hand in the papers and convince the lady that there are no conservation fees to be paid because all four of us were on a Wild Card.

In general we had a fantastic time. Bungalow service was good. It is always great to visit the Park. Just a pity the Leopards were hiding from us this time, other than that we cannot complain about our sitings, which included, lots of rhino, lots of buffalo, lots of Elephants and the odd lion. Of our favorites are eagles of which we also saw lots, especially the Bateleur and an added bonus was a Juvenile Marshall Eagle on a tree right next to the road, giving some guinea fowl a hard time. The only two areas we would like to comment on are as below:The reception staff could be a more friendly.The restaurant front line staff serving customers at Lower Sabie were extremely slow, unfriendly and not well trained.Service started taking place once, what looked like Supervisors, came to the fore. My husband tried getting the attention of the one of the waiters, who just ignored him and walked away.

We found the frieldliness of the staff exceptionally friendly and well spoken. The hut we were allocated was small but big enough for an overnight stay, the toilets and showers were very clean and tidy. the shop was well stocked and we enjoyed the food in the restaurant. Overall an exceptional visit. Thank you

We had a wonderful time. We were able to see all of the big five and it was the most amazing experience. The workers at the Pretorius camp was very friendly and they cleaned the camp and bathrooms regularly. The only downside was the showers, the temperature of the showers could not be regulated so you either showered in very hot or very cold water. But overall it was a amazing experience

We enjoyed our stay here. Good standard and the bungalow and facilities were well kept.All the shops were well merchandised and we really enjoyed shopping there. The meat section, however,was generally not of a good quality and should be looked at,change to a better butcher which can supply fresh meat.The menu at the restuarant were limited and boring. All in all, apart frm Skakuza and Crocodile Bridge we had a most enjoyable stay, thank you. Once again with the exception of Skakuza, the staff were accomodating and made us feel welcome, they are obviously very well trained.

As always a trip to Kruger is a wonderful get away. We saw 3 leopard in one day which was a treat. We also saw the largest heard of buffalo I have seen in many a year in Kruger which is heartening. The accommodation was a bit of a let down with drab old bedding and no even a chair outside to sit on. It was not made clear at booking that even the basic cups, plates and cutlery was not included. Surely a small plastic garden set at the braai and a set of basic cutlery and a kettle would not break the bank. International tourists I feel would not have been happy with this accommodation an I as a South African would have been embarrassed to have international guests at this accommodation. Even the basic kitchen requirements are extremely expensive at the little camp shop as they know they have a captive audience.

We used this camp as the point of entry into the park, to which it is ideally suited. We thought that the camp itself is very well maintaned and beyond first world standards (well done SAN Parks). It was very cool to see Impala inside the camp and I think that in summer the pool area will be the place to be. We enjoyed our meal at the restraunt and realy enjoyed our stay.

Very disappointing - saw very few animals - more in the camp than outside and we spent hours travelling. On Friday late afternoon the rangers made fires around the camp, which spread very quickly as the wind came up and changed direction; to the extent that there was so much smoke in the camp that one could hardly breathe and the visibility was very poor, causing burning of the eyes, caughing, etc. Braaing was a nightmare - most men were outside braaing as quickly as possibly and then hurried back inside. My chest was so badly affected (asthma) that we left the next day - a day early. The veld had burnt so badly that there were even less animals to see. My question is why over a long weekend? Bad planning or lack of proper planning? Is this not why there are no animals? The fires do not appear to be well controlled; and why is this done in the late afternoon and into the night? The accommodation, bathrooms, etc. were great!

The park fees are exorbitant especially since they are paid DAILY. How about rationalising the price per adult to one figure as differentiating between SA visitors and Internationals is Discrimination! The accommodation was much better than Lower Sabie Rest Camp. Pity about the self catering facilities - nothing much supplied besides a 2-plate stove - its NOT ENOUGH - You need to gear up for travellers.

Kruger National Park is always a highlight for most tourists so we, as South Africans, were quite embarrassed to take our Australian friends on a one night visit.Firstly we got lost getting to Numbi Gate from the Kruger International Airport as it is so badly signposted.Then dinner at Pretoriuskop was to put it mildly "disgusting". The meal was expensive and what was on our plates was not what was stated on the menu. The service was laughable and while we did not see fit to complain (it was just not worth it) another group of guests was not so lenient.Breakfast at Skukuza the following morning was also totally off the board expensive costing almost R 600.00 for 4 people.On a positive note though the game was spectacular.

We stayed in Pretoriuskop rest camp. We enjoyed the whole week that we were where, but the last night that we were there, someone play an instrument aloud and it was really annoying. The reason why we are going to the Park is because of the quiet nights with the animal sounds, but that night it really wasn't a night to remember. It would be nice if there are rule according to playing music etc. in the park

I frequent the Kruger when ever I get the opportunity and have always loved it. The accommodation in EB2 huts are very affordable for locals. The last visit the bathrooms were in a terrible state and I was embarrassed that people leave them in that state. There was vomit and poo left on the sink and in all the loos. They were not cleaned for the day or night.

Our stay at Pretoriuskop was enjoyable. Their was either two problems. Firstly was the receptionist very abrupt ,blunt and not very helpful. For the price one has to pay, you expect a friendly and helpful person, which was definitely not the case. The second complain are the woman's toilets. The hand dryers was not working and there was no paper towels to dry your hands when you came out of the toilet.Otherwise we saw a lot of animals.

Our stay was very nice thank you and many thanx to the cleaner who cleaned our braai every morning. We used our own braai, because there were not enough for everybody, there were also too little powerpoints for the campers. We and some other campers had to share, also there were not enough rubbish bins. Otherwise - it was very nice and quiet thank you.

we had a womderful weekend .i had to change a tyre that picked up a nail.this was changed by the very helpfull staff at the petrol station in Pretoriuskop.they realy went out their way to assist me.I will visit the camp again.

Our night drive was on the same day as our arrival and it was a bit of a rush. 2) It would be nice to have like a radio station where rangers and visitors can inform the people in the park of where animals like the big 5 have been cited so that everybody can improve their chancers of seeing the big 5. 3) It would also be nice to have a built up area around the braais at the various bungalows to accomodate plates and glasses etc and with a light to make braaing more enjoyable at night. Otherwise a really enjoyable holiday!

Everything was very nice, except my pajama top was stolen OUT of the hut where we were staying and the only people who have excess to the accommodation is the cleaners. I made a phone call to report this but still awaits that someone must come back to me.We stayed in number 43 in Pretoriuskop. This is troublesome seeing we love the Kruger national park and your belongings are supposed to be safe in your accommodation. Please look in to this for us seeing that we think you have an employee with long fingers that's going to ruin the otherwise good reputation of the Kruger Park.

Very long grass. Visability poor. We ordered kitchen utensils and paid four two days. We received VERY LIMITED utensils no cups , ladel or plate and utensils for 3rd member. Only 2 supplied for 3!

I found pretoriuskop pleasent, it was clean and tidy and the staff was wonderful. The restrooms at skukuza could use some attention, especially knowing the amount of people that stop there daily.

Our group of 36 were impressed by the service of the park staff in facilitating our late arrival after experiencing vehicle problem on our way from Swaziland. The boma braai was excellent and we applaud the staff for waiting for our arrival.Our morning game rangers were excellent in finding us four of the big five.Our only negative experience was that we were not given a map of the layout of the rest camp from which we could find our rooms. The rooms are poorly numbered and impossible to see them in the dark. We had some of our team walking around with their suitcases for more than 20 minutes trying to find their rooms. Overall our experience was good and we applaud the staff of various departments for their efficiency in making our short stay a memorable one.

Good morning. The house is nice, everything is new. However the utensils and other kitchen stuff is very few. Nothing to dish up in you have to eat out of the pot, only 2 items of everything so you keep washing. Nothing to handle hot pots. Why do you have the kitchen outside? You had controlled fires so there were not many animals around.

Stay at Pretoriuskop was very nice, but because of the controlled fires we didn't see a lot of animals and the smoke was very irritating. We were very exited about our two day stay because we had two young men with us that had their first Kruger experience. We all love the park and will definitely return

Veld fires spoiled a what should have been a great time. The fires were managed fires, which caused the camp to be nearly unbearable. We hardly had anywhere to drive, and hardly saw any animals. We had friends in the camping site, and it was nearly impossible to enjoy the time around the camp fire because in incessant smoke. Otherwise, we love the Kruger.

Sanitary OK.Bush walk cancelled in the morning at 5h15: coordination could have been better, as the fires are controlled, an alternative could have been elaborated. During Bush drive nearly no animals have been seen in 3 hours.Nice Pool area.
