Tamboti Tented Camp
A SANParks self-catering camp.
The Timbavati river bed, generally dry throughout the year, provides a great setting at the western boundary of the Kruger Park for Tamboti Tented Camp. One of the park's most popular camps with safari tents which are complemented by the area's tall Marula and Tamboti trees. The tranquility and harmony of the rustic surroundings here imbue the Tamboti Tented Camp with a natural bush feeling that is so special and unique, guests will want to stay on indefinitely.
We do not take rest camp bookings. Camps are booked directly with SANParks, where current tariffs are published.

About Tamboti Tented Camp.
Accommodation
- Two-bed and four-bed, furnished Safari Tents have either 2 or 4 single beds, a fridge, standing fan and a small veranda. Communal ablutions and communal kitchens with hot plate, hot water urn and washing up facilities for your convenience.
- Semi-luxury Safari Tents are furnished with a double bed and a single sleeper couch, shower, toilet, fridge, kitchenette and braai facilities.
Tamboti Tented Camp is managed from Orpen Rest Camp, therefore having no reception area. Guests must report to Orpen Camp for check-in.
Activities & Facilities
Guided bush walks and safari game drives are operated from Orpen Camp, all under the supervision of well informed and keen professional field guides.
Important to note: children under the age of six years old are not permitted on the safari game vehicle and children under the age of twelve years old are restricted from guided bush walks.
Facilities at the camp include: Bird Hide, communal ablutions, communal kitchens, boma/communal braai(barbecue). No restaurant, shop or bank at Orpen Camp.

We do not take rest camp bookings. What our safari specialists do arrange is the private reserves of the Greater Kruger: private lodges where expert guiding, meals and game drives are included, and nothing is left to the camp kitchen. We look after international travellers and SADC residents alike, and many lodges offer reduced SADC rates.
