We were completely satisfied and impressed.

Staff, accommodations and park were super.

Pieter Carel Moolman

I have only one criticism which is that the crockery/cutlery supplied needs to be more comprehensive - to iclude sharp cutting knoves and scissors - and sufficient for four people even in a two person chalet

michael harrison

We had a wonderful stay in Addo. We saw some marvellous wildlife and the Forest Cabin was lovely

Janet Holloway

We were stuck behind a herd of elephants for half an hour. They were ambling to a waterhole - a lesson in live life in the slow lane.

Nirmal Ghumman

All in all a good experience except we thought the food in the restaurant was not up to standard.

Mr Douglas Bradshaw

The most fantastic camping experience. Ablutions exceedingly clean - staff wonderful - camp area beautiful. WEATHER - GREAT

Michele van der Bank

Because the restaurant was in the building phase, we had to rely on the shop. We found the shop extremely limited for "self catering" food needs. My advise would be less curios and more staple food items in the shop.

Troy Buttress

We really enjoyed our stay. The rondaval with the view on the waterhole was awesome. Thank you for all your support! The only thing that could be better is a cleaner pool. The pool was really dirty and full of bees.

Diana Vossen

Liesl and Tina had a wonderful stay, thank you. It is a little over-priced for local standards. However rondavel stay is unique and special efforts were made to view the SA rugby game on big screen on Sun morning. Thank you

Tina van Reenen

First trip to Addo and we were very impressed with the roads, the camp and the Main Camp facilities. Had wonderful sightings of elephant and buffalo. Fabulous visit, night drive was disappointing but the guide Ryan was brilliant. Thank you.

Lesley Murray

We stayed in a 2 person chalet. As was said on the website, it is basic but nice. It was very clean and everyone at Addo was helpful and friendly. The restaurant was nice, great option if you did not want to cook. I would go back and stay there again.

Margaretha Brand

We had a wonderful time in Addo .Place was clean and well maintained.

Eleanor Botha

Dealt with Estelle Toerien who helped me all the way to get wonderful accommodation at the main camp in Addo. Sent all the relevant documents and all the information we needed. Will definitaly book through this company again and will also recommend it to my friends.

Sandra Fullerton

I had a wonderful stay and will go back next year with a couple of my friends

amanda le Roux

chrystal harris

A nice place to stay and to see.

Andreas Aescht

Really were lucky to see 4 out of the big 5 while we were there! the room was private which was great but very hot despite the fan and leaving the doors open while we were there. The service was great

Kim Ratcliffe

Accommodation first class, saw elephant and wart hogs from our veranda. Did 2 game drives, one in our own vehicle and one with a ranger. We also saw 6 of the 8 lions, hundreds of elephants at a watering hole as well as a herd of Cape Buffalo, many antelope, meerkats, and bird life.

Denis Littleford

Awesome campsites. Awesome restaurant. Awesome staff. Awesome game. Awesome elephants.

Gary Reynolds

All I can says was wonderful personnel was very helpful.

HENRIETTA ROUX

Had a great time. Only stayed 2 nights 1 day. would have liked to have stayed longer but could not afford it.

William New

We had never been to the Addo Elephant park before, and we were very impressed with everything. The roads, the accommodation, the Main Camp was superb with restaurant and facilities, so loved our experience, and saw the most superb sightings of elephant and buffalo.

Lesley Murray

The accommodation is clean and comfortable. Overall the facilities are very good and it is quite an experience to visit the park.

febe Streicger

Another 5 nights of tranquility and 4 days of excitement and surprise.

PERCY FIAMINGO

We loved both camps that we stayed in. Great attention to detail, comfortable accommodation, quality linen and great beds. Surroundings gorgeous. Just superb!

Toni Van Hoey Smith

Great accommodation thanks.

Angelique Scott

The accommodation was clean but very basic.

Jenny Collins

WE really had a GREAT visit to Addo, our sixth. The highlight was trailing a lioness for about 3 k's on the Harvey Loop and see her go into a stalking mode. We thought here is our first kill in 50 years of game viewing! After about a minute, the Warthog realised the danger and went into F1 mode. Next we had a Caracal all to ourselves and the last day we saw a Secretary bird lunching on a Scrub hare. Due to the amount of rain the Ellies stayed in the bush, so not a troop sighting, but what an exciting Addo visit again. Cant wait for Kgalagadi in December!

BARRY BURGER

Very happy with everything.

HERMAN VAN ZYL

Accommodation was clean, well equipped & suitable.

Very pleasant and well organised camp. Clean, friendly, helpful and roads in good condition. Well done! Thanks for your hospitality. Regards M Bekker

jean michel laporte

A really well run camp, the reception staff are friendly & welcoming. The accommodation & cleanliness perfect. The Restuarant was good too. We were very impressed & loved our stay in the Addo. A really beautiful part of SA.

CLAIR OXLEY-OXLAND

We will certainly recommend it to other parties and will visit again.

BRYAN SHAW

Our stay at Addo Main Camp was an unforgettable experience. We had so much fun bathing in Addo's tranquility. Thank you for everything.

anri scheepers

Pleasant reception. Parking bit resticting by tents. Food absolutely lovely and service very friendly and efficient. A pleasure to be able to show international guests around. Park looking at its best ever.

Helen Grapes

Great visit to Addo - was there 16 years ago and it is immensely improved

Robert Cowie

This is our first visit in the park. Thank you for a wonderful stay and good service. We will definitely return.

Dries

Well equipped communal kitchen and clean rooms.

Dee

We loved our stay in Addo National Park.

Jill

Beautiful park with a lot off animals

Anja Clement

nice and clean.

Manfred Guske

We had a wonderful 24 hours at Addo Elephant park. The accommodation was clean and suitably equipt. The restaurant was easy and relaxed. We had a great family stay.

Jacqui

Great experience allround, but I think what impressed me the most is the friendliness and big smiles of all the employees at Addo. I give them 10/10 and wish to say THANK YOU ALL.

Phillip Nel

We had the best time at Addo, having just been to Kgadlagadi & west coast which was thouroughly disappointing.

Ana Olivier

Great experience with the night game drive and we will again stay in the safari tents.

Rian Geldenhuys

My wife and I have been visiting Addo for the last ten years and have seen vast improvements. Our experience this year was the best we've had. The staff, without exception were courteous and helpful. We had an issue with the shower which was sorted promptly. A meal at the camp restaurant was very good, the service excellent. An early morning game drive was most rewarding, our guide CK was knowledgable and informative. His off-road route was timed perfectly to see a pair of male lions pass within a metre of the front of our vehicle. The lady on the park gate prompt and pleasent. We have purchased a wild card for further game viewing days in the park.

Philip Green

We have been overseas visitors to Addo for the last ten years and it just get's better. There have been issues on previous visits but our experience this year was excellent. The accommodation was clean and comfortable, our complaint about the faulty shower was quickly rectified, our meal in the restaurant was good and all staff were pleasant and helpful. We had an early morning game drive, our guide CK was pleasent, knowledgable and informative. He took us off-road perfectly timed to witness a pair of male lions cross a metre in front of the vehicle. My wife and I have purchased a wild card so can now access the parks on a greater number of occasions.

Philip Gree

The forest cabin was a bit small for three people, but otherwise everything was fine. Our stay in the park was exciting, we saw many different animals, especially many elephant. The park is certainly one of the highlights in South Africa if one looks for nature and animals. Some of the ways could be better marked, we lost our way several times and the map we received at the reception was a copy from a copy and therefore not very good.

Christoph

Addo chalet provided good quality accommodation. Only down side was that it rained very heavily earlier the day we arrived, so the entire stoep was water logged. At least there was a broom to sweep it away before we could get to the door.

Saskia Weitsz

Well run camp with clean ablutions and good shop on site. Animals a bit scarce though.

Johannes Dicks

We thoroughly enjoyed the stay in Addo and the main camp is very nice and relaxing. The chalets was serviced excellently and we had a very nice view. We enjoyed the game viewing in our own vehicle and drove right through the Park. Will visit again sometime!

Pieter Scheepers

Unfortunately my husband. Decided that he could not make the trip due to a painful back but our two Dutch friends and I enjoyed our stay in the park and felt quite. safe at all times. The only problem was the monkeys at the picnic spot they quick as lightning stole our food.

Colleen Silberbauer

Was enjoyable. Park well kept. Will be back

George Morrison

very enjoyable

We visited Addo Restcamp for 9 days and stayed over in the caravan park. The camping sites are private and clean. We loved our site which had plenty of shade! Dust bins and fireplaces are emptied each morning which was great! I would however suggest that the ablutions be upgraded soon! We where however shocked to see the swimming pool in such a state. We really looked forward to our 1st swim after a long drive through the resort but needless to say we did not swim because the pool area looked terrible. If a small shop ,music, green cut grass, a few tables and chairs, lilo's, clean blue water in the pool could be added to the picture (and maybe just maybe heated) then ALL the overnight visitors will use this facility!!!! The rest of our stay was awesome! The shop is beautiful and the food at the cattle barron was delicious.

Ilse Cronje

We always enjoy Addo. The accommodation is just what we want. We often recommend travellers to stay at Addo

Brian Reid

Accommodation was clean but slightly cramped for four. Never the less good value for money and we would stay there again

Alistair Reid

The accommodation was excellent, apart from the one patio chair which was completely broken.

John Hopkins

Wonderful as usual.

PERCY FIAMINGO

Our party had a 5-star experience at Addo. Accommodation was clean, very comfortable and well serviced. Food was great, Day driver/ranger was exceptional(Headman), staff all good except the 2 women at the reception desk who seemed to be bored with their job and not up to the general standard of providing good service.

Linda Helfet

I just want to thank the personal at the park for their outstanding service and frindliness. We camped and it was our first. Brought a conqueror trailer and had no idea how to set it up. Two of the gentlemen came and helped us and their help was outstanding, thank you.I lost my cellphone on our last evening we were there, 13 Nov. I just want to report I found it when we got home, had fallen into the bag I put our dirty washing into. Please let the staff at the gate know it was found. I reported it to them on 14 November as we were leaving. Will definitely be back.Thank you.

Tommy Bosch

Great game viewing and well looked after resort. The chalets are a little over priced for what you get - they could do with a bit of a refresh if you want to charge those prices.

HUGH HOPKINS

Very comfortable and clean

MICHAEL ANDERSON

The camp and accommodation at Addo was neat clean and comfortable. The park was beautiful, we saw lion, large herds of Kudu, and Eland in beautiful condition. The roads were well maintained and what I liked best of the park was that there are waterholes like the Domkrag waterhole where you can get out of your car and watch the elephants interact and play in the water! There is no other park in SA where you can get so close to the animals. A very satisfying experience!

Marlise Basson

We were very pleased to see the tents had been re-decorated. It was great to have a tent with really good lighting. There seem to be little improvements all around the camp which was great to see. What with that and many many elephants to watch we had a good trip.

Sue Anderson

I'm impressed with the cleanliness and neatness of the whole area. Shall visit again!

Ina Muller

Good accommodation, good service.

Heinrich

As before it was great being back, now for the fifth time. I have already booked a week in November 2014.

PERCY FIAMINGO

The tents at Addo are becoming a little shabby. There is also not a work surface in the tent to prepare a drink if the weather is bad outside. The waterhole at the tented camp appeared "fixed" and I got the idea the buffaloes lived within its confines- this is merely a perception. The restaurant food was not up to standard with the vegetables being embarrassingly overcooked and kept warm for a while. The service was slow and the attention given by the waiters appalling. As avid nature lovers we find Addo not to be a destination of choice any longer.

Marion Phelan

We stayed three nights in the rest camp in a Rondavel with a lovely view of the watering hole, a good fridge, and access to a well stocked communal kitchen, in which each rondavel had a labelled draw of utensils to be used in good stove tops, etc. We actually did not use the communal kitchen, but, thanks to the fridge, we had wonderful breakfasts of muesli, fruit, yogurt, etc. and leftovers from the restaurant meals we enjoyed. On the first morning we took a guided game drive, which led us to see a lone buffalo near the route, an aging elephant crossing the road ahead while the driver explained that he was an elder and also in "musht". He explained the signs and gave us serious warnings about staying away from elephants with those signs (which we did in Kruger!). That afternoon and early the next morning we went out again and saw many additional elephants from our own car on the very well marked roads (every intersection corresponded to a number on the map; there is absolutely no need for a GPS here). Also good, we were able to use our Wild Card, purchased in Cape Point for the conservation fees. Over the whole trip, we very much more than paid it off! All visitors to many parks should purchase it.In all, it was a magnificent introduction to South Africa's game parks. Thank you.

Kathy Roper

The park was beautiful after the rains. The accommodation excellent.

SUSAN ERASMUS

All was very clean and the kitchens spotless. Staff very friendly too.

Jacky Donovan

very well run park .Spotlessly clean, restaurant outstanding, all staff polite and well trained. All in all, a pleasure to visit !

Peter Kempster

Again, it was a pleasure to visit this park and we saw Lion & Hyena for the first time there, as well as MANY Elephants, Kudu & Warthogs!

Danie Viljoen

We were most impressed with the Staff at Addo, pleaant and accommodating. The restuarant was clean, presentable and we enjoyed several meals we had there. Accommodation in the Forest Cabins was excellent, serviced much to our surprise and the communial kitchen was always spotless, my husband and I think that the other National Parks should take a long, hard look at what Addo is doing because whatever it is, they are doing it correctly. All in all a good time was had and also the night drive was excellent.

Barbara goldie

Had a good experience, very tidy park, animals and whole ecosystem in good condition.

Marga Saaijman

A well laid out and managed camp. Your other camps can learn from Addo

John Spinks

Ons het vreeslik lekker gekuier het dit vreeslik geniet is definitief. Is def terug volgende jaar!!!

Carla de Kock

Well done one a well maintained, neat and tidy park. The bathrooms is clean and staff friendly. A concern is the apes that has moved to the Camp sites.A suggestion would be to put more emphasis on informing people not to feed apes.Otherwise a great weekend.

Pierre Rocher

Camp site was extremely busy and therefore much too noisy for a "Rest Camp" in a nature reserve. Also, stands marked for caravans were all taken up by tents although the tent campers do have their own stands. I feel camp attendants should see to it that people camp on their correct sites. Attendants in shop was not very friendly and helpful - it was as if it was a great effort to serve one. Office staff (reception) was excellent.

Mrs R Norman

Good morning all,We had a wonderful stay at the Addo rest camp! The cottage was wonderful and the lunch at the restaurant was outstanding!!We will definitely be back!Regards,Nicole

NIcole Kleynhans-Boogaers

Sadly we were only able to stay for one night due to car problems, but we had a vary enjoyable time.Better than our 6 nights at the Kruger. Friendly and helpful personnel. excellent facilities.

R A Munz

My first time experience of Addo were exeptional and a definate value for money. This is something that I will do in the future soon again. I definately recommend Addo to all my friends and family.

Dirk Coetzee

Fabulous stay in guest house - spacious, great view, lovely location.

Greg Davies

Had a wonderful time at Addo Thank you!

Barry Scarterfield

Had a nice stay, thanks.

BERTUS JACOBS

We had a wonderful time in Addo, saw a lot of wild life. Addo never dissapoints. Facilities in very good condition and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. The store was well priced on general groceries but unfortunately there was no wood available for the whole weekend. Otherwise we had an awesome weekend.

Hugo van der Walt

Ablution was neat and cleaned regulary. Campsite was also neat and a pleasure . Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurant very good.

Bertus Jacobs

Very nice, service in restaurant needs attention, food Ok.

LEON GROENEWALD

Addo Elephant was the best holiday stop over Ive ever visited. Just wish we could have stayed a day or two longer. One night was not sufficient!!

yvonne shorten

Addo is a wonderful park, easy to self drive. We saw an amazing number of animals and birds. The children thoroughly enjoyed theirtime in the park. We stayed in the park and we were verypleased with our chalet, the facilities and all ofthe staff. That was our second trip to Addo and we will be back.

Aisling Clinch Long

We enjoyed the camp site at Addo and found the staff pleasant and efficient. We thought there should have been better signage, e.g where the game drives start and the underground hide's locality as well as the viewing deck - discovered all these by detective work and accident. While there we had a medical scare, and the two ladies on the reception desk were most kind and helpful.

Joy Cook

As regular visistors to Addo Elephant Park, we had a lovely stay. Staff was friendly and facilities clean and comfortable.

Anita Seal

While the park itself was wonderful and we enjoyed the new Jacks Rest picnic site, the camp was a little noisy with the large parties of tour guides camping with big trucks that came and went all the time over the weekend. But the showers and toilets were kept very clean, and they had revamped the kitchen block with splendid instant boiling water machine to make an early morning cuppa quickly before you go into the park. Well done Addo staff.

Glynis Wilson

On arrival, on our 3rd visit to the safari tents we were pleased to see a new tent, lighting and furniture. The tents are very comfortable. The bushes in front of the water hole had grown - I don't know if it would be possible to cut them to improve the view of the water hole? Service at the shop was the only draw back. The assistants were no particularly friendly. On 1 occasion I was short changed and on another overcharged. I know the currency, foreigners might not. In all though a great holiday.

LORNA DUNN

This is the third time we have stayed in a safari tent and the second time in no 1. We were so pleased to see that the tents were new - we had wondered if they would be scrapped for chalets at the end of their life. they are a delight to stay in. It would be good if some of the bushes could be cut to give a better view of the water hole. The only thing I did not like was the service at the shop. The assistants were not very friendly and on two occasions I was firstly short changed and then the bill was added up incorrectly and I was charged for 2 not 1 bottles of wine. Despite this we had a lovely stay.

LORNA DUNN

Great safari experience, could even see herd of elephants from accommodation terrace, and then was able to guess which way they were going so that we saw herd at watering hole with their babies. Accommodation simple but functional. Great place for young family and first self drive safari.

Jane Baker

Cottage was clean and comfortable, albeit ot luxurious. It was well equipped abd excellent value for money.Game viewing was fine, and Elephant experience unsurpassed in SA.The disparity in "Conservancy charges' between SA national and International visitors grates.

michael harrison

Wir bewohnten 2 Cottages. Beide waren sehr gemütlich, sauber und zum Wiederkommen. Wir genossen die 2 Cottages mit den schönen Terrassen. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Marlise Streich

A really good overnight stay and then 8 hour safari was capped by seeing the dominant male elephant on the park - Paul.

Sally Trott

We loved the situation of the Safari Tents, overlooking the waterhole, and saw so many water fowl, as well as Kudu and elephant. Very enjoyable.

Barbara Schwandtner

Excellent overnight stop. Accommodation great - air com appreciated. Night drive a highlight. Our own drive brilliant - lots of elephants playing at Hapoor. Shop excellent. Restaurant ok.

Hester Clark

Bathroom was a disgrace - shower floor was flooding, toilets blocked - not a nice site !

Anna Reilly

we had an infestation in our chalet of Silvermoths, following re-thatching of the room. This happened at 22:00. We were efficiently moved to another room and have been promised compensation which has yet to arrive.

Garth Allen

Staff were friendly, safari tents were neat, clean and well equipped. Bathrooms small, but clean (except for bugs that are expected). All over a pleasant experience.

Lizette Viljoen

We liked our experience in Addo! We had our own car but we had a early morning drive which we enjoyed a lot and we found our guide absolutely prepared! Absolutely worth a visit!

Ceriali Brunella

We have never over-nighted in Addo before and were very impressed with Domkrag Guest House, where we spent two nights. It is very comfortable, very private and very well-equipped. We were extremely fortunate with animal sightings, especially terrific elephant sightings - babies playing in the waterhole! It was also quite an experience to be surrounded by 8 hyena, who then went for a swim in the dam. As Domkrag overlooks a waterhole, we could watch game come down to drink in the evening and the early morning. I do think though that the opening hours for the park could be extended in the summer months.

Sandra Cleary

The most amazing place!

Donn

Lekker gekamp, baie en mooi Olifante, Leeus het ons vermaak. Sal beslis weer kom. Alle wild is mak en rustig.

HEYSTEK VAN ROOYEN

Great place! Excellent service! Awesome wildlife! Would definitely go back!

Brandon Cox

We loved the animals, the accommodation was acceptable, clean etc. Meals at the restaurant were very average and the menu limited. Some up-skilling needed in revamping the food.

Barbara Price-Hughes

Great experience!

Fran Aebischer

A most attractive, well run camp. Staff were attentive. Cabin was clean and comfortable. Will definitely return.

Murray Wilson

The Bathroom is a problem...bad leak in shower. Too much furniture in the room so not enough space for 4 people.

KIM JONES

We had a wonderfull time.Thanks

Annelie Dippenaa

The condition of the permanent tents is not good, they seem to be very dirty.

Naomi du Plessis

Professional staff, clean facilities and nice camping sites. Well done.

Jean de Klerk

Addo is well kept. The place is clean and well kept. Keep it up

Zandile Kota

We had a lovely time at Addo. The Safari Tent we stayed in was a well worth experience and I can recommend this to anyone. Cleaned every day and very friendly staff and a lovely view. Thank you for accommodating us.

Retha Claasen

I was very impressed with the accommodation, it was more than adequate for what we needed. The condition of the park was outstanding and I will certainly make an effort to return for longer.

Bryan Colin Walsh

Great. Thanks!

Eugene Schultz

Great. Thanks!

Eugene Schultz

Excellent accommodation, friendly staff and good game spotting. First time in Addo and will definitely be there again

TONY LACHMAN

We had a very nice stay. Cottages are great. Have no complaints. Will definately visit more National parks! Thanks!

B Beverley

Hi This is my first day back at work today therefore I am only replying to you now. We arrived on 18/12/2010 and booked out on 22/12/2010 I must admit that it was one of my greatest experiences ever!My husband and I could not stop talking about our visit to Addo and we still do. Well, I did not know what was awaiting me.My Hubby and I celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary on 21st December and he decided that we visit Addo.To our joy we spotted two lions and a lioness on that day and we were thrilled as we have been trying to do so for three days. We spotted all most all the animals on the guide

Sandra Abrahams

Addo experienced good rains whilst we were in the park. We were very happy for the park as there had been a prolonged drought in the region. The displays at the Interactive centre are impressive. Well done!

Andrew Campbell

The service was very professional and we enjoyed every minute. The show from the elephants was super.

Hannie

The staff is very professional and we really enjoyed the stay in the Forest Cabin.

Hannie

Christa du Preez

Thanks for the hospitality and experience - appreciated.

Anne Taylor

ELMARIE STEGMAN

There should be a lot more animals now that Addo is so vast.

Janice Howard

A very enjoyable stay!

MNPD Cruywagen

A very enjoyable stay!

MNPD Cruywagen

What an amazing experiences staying in the reserve and seeing over 100 elephants, truly breathtaking. Forest cabin was cosy, spacious and well supplied, lovely local restaurant. Great experience!

Sian Waldron

Great stay in the chalet in the park, had very nice days !

Sandra SChneider

I made the booking for a group of women in their early seventies. They were very happy with the accommodation, it was clean & well appointed. All staff very pleasant. Unfortunately the visit was too short. Congratulations

Felicity Bingham

It was a good experience.I would prefer a kitchen in the bungalow.

S. Lumb

Another super stay at the Park. One disappointment, gate opening times in summer are late into the morning (6.00am), too late to catch leopard. In the Kruger they open at 4.30am.

PERCY FIAMINGO

Jannie Engelbrecht

We last stayed at Addo a few year's ago but wanted to go back to the safari tents as we had enjoyed staying there so much. Our only concern was the shared kitchen and ablution block. Our recent stay was even better than before. The new water hole opposite the tents attracted 3 young elephants every after noon which were a joy to watch as was the evening and morning chorus from the water.I had read criticism of the restaurant. We only ate there once but the meal was good. The staff as always were pleasant and helpful

Lorna Dunn

we had a wonderful time, saw lots of animals, enjoyed the reserve and where very happy. there needs to be some maintenance done at the tents, but overal people are helpfull, friendly ext.

C Jost

we had a wonderful time, saw lots of animals, enjoyed the reserve and where very happy. there needs to be some maintenance done at the tents, but overal people are helpfull, friendly ext.

C Jost

Found the whole experience very refreshing, the forest cabin was comfortable and the communal kitchen was amazing. We were fortunate to see many elephants during our stay, as I believe that sometimes this can be a hit & miss affair, but we saw them all, from bulls down to the very smallest. Personally I was thrilled with the entire experience>

LYNETTE VAN ZYL

Excellent experience. Service good, facilities good - very enjoyable.

Athol Beeforth

Very well run camp clean chalets with good utensils and clean kitchen, pleasant staff. Not one complaint, would recommend addo to friends - they could teach Kruger Park how to run camps. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

B M Quatember

Accommodation was excellent, roads are good and a lot of birds to see.

Piet le Roux

A very enjoyable 2 days. The staff are friendly and helpful. Ablution facilities are neat and clean. The tend camp sites are about half the size they should be but the game viewing is excellent.

R Landers

Francois Eloff

Instructions for use of TV should be separate and more clearly placed next to the TV. We only found these later and in meantime found we had had all the wrong things so the TV didn't work. We didn't raise a complaint because we don't go the game park to watch TV - but the rugby final was on and we would have liked to see that.We didn't see as much game as our previous 2 visits probably because the park had had so much rain. However this was offset by beautiful fresh green vegetation and wonderful array of flowers.

Derek Moore

I felt very proud to be South African when we stayed at Addo Elephant Park recently - we found the service to be excellent (friendly, efficient staff, extremely helpful) - we had a problem with our heater - they were there in five minutes to sort it out. The accommodation was clean, ready for us and had everything we required for our stay. We thought the park was super clean and well maintained. All in all there was nothing for us to complain about except not being able to stay longer! We will definitely be back.RegardsTrevor and Heather JohnCape Town

Heather John

Andrew Botes

Lovely stay. Thank you.

Sonya Rougier-Lagane

On entering the the Park at the Colchester gate we were greeted by 3 elephants on the road just 5 minutes after our arrival. What a way to start a 2 night stay. The receptionist who checked us in was friendly and efficient. Our cottage was clean and cool just what we needed. Our stay was memorable for all the right reasons.

Irene Newton

We had a great time, everything was well organised, the road network within the park is excellent. We saw a variety of species including a male lion and lots of buffalo and elephants. We will definitely do this every year.

Deon Jordaan

We took our grandsons aged 4 and 12 to Addo and all had a wonderful time. The chalet was clean and comfortable, friendly staff. The bush walk in the camp was exciting for the boys. We even saw a mouse and 2 dung beetles, also loads of Meerkats, a Puff Adder and a Rock Monitor, Red Hartebees and of course lots of birds.

Wilma Heesakkers

We had such a great time that we extended our stay. The camping facilities are excellent. What impressed us most were the staff. We stayed at Kruger in 2011 and the attitudes of most of the staff were horrible. They were not interested in helping with anything in any way. The personnel at Addo - only a pleasure!

Andre Olwagen

We were impressed with the improvements made to the accommodation since our visit last year. Food quality and service in restaurant were very good. Animal sightings was excellent and we are looking forward to visiting again next year.

Wish we could have stayed longer, but next time we will ask for accommodation that is a little less in Rands; we now explored the camp and will settle for the rondavel.

The 2 nights my wife and I spent at Addo in Safari Rent accommodation was great. It was value for money and the facitities, service, self game drives were great. There are not many places such as Addo, where people from the Eastern Cape can enjoy spending a few nights in a game park at a affordable rate. We will be back.Kind Regards, Craig

We enjoyed the park and its wildlife, relaxed when compared with the animals on a recent Kruger visit. The catering at the tents was a bit tricky - no dining space near kitchen, no tap near tent. Chairs very uncomfortable!(Cf Camdeboo which excelled in these details.)Staff great, except uninterested waiters in restaurant.

martina de lange

Comfortable cottage, basic, but with all needs met. Good dinner in the camp restaurant. Good map of the park and enjoyed the drive down to the Colchester exit.

James McGregor

We had a great time at Addo. Accommodation was excellent, we enjoyed visiting the info centre. Horse ride was memorable. Overall a great family holiday.

It was a really great experience, just once again making one aware of how great GOD is. The staff were fantastic, the surroundings very neat and clean, and the steak I had in the restaurant for supper was truly the best, tenderest I've ever had.The drive in the reserve was a little disappointing, as we didn't see many animals. The peace and quiet is really something to experience. Thank you very much!

It was awesome. View from chalet stunning. Chalet very clean and well equiped. Restaurant and food were great. All staff we dealt with werevery friendly.

Managed to see a lot of elephant, zebra, kudu, warthogs and red hartebeest. Only one buffalo and no cats of any sort - as with our visit to Kruger last year. The accommodation at Domkrag was very comfortable.

John Lionel Potgieter Heath

This was our first visit to the Addo Elephant Park, having gone on the recommendation of friends who are regular visitors. We were SO impressed with the park. Everything is clean and tidy and very well maintained. We saw plenty animals and had a lovely, peaceful getaway. We will definitely return.

LESLEY & ANDREW COETZER

Nice trip Food was stolen from our fridge on the stoep

RIANA SWARTZ

We experienced friendly staff and neat facilities although not on the same level as that of the Kruger National Park.

Riana Knoblauch

We thought that the park has improved considerably since our last visit about 10 years ago. We saw a lot of game on our self game drive and a lot of it was close to the road. We also saw elephant and kudu and warthog from outsde our accommodation. The accommodation was very good and so was the food at the restaurant.

Our reception was friendly and courteous. Our overall impression of the park was impressive. We were lucky to have arrived after all the rain and having the veld in tip top condition. The animals were also in good condition enjoying the lush veld. Our accommodation was very good and well serviced during our stay. The equipment supplied was good. It would have been nice to have at least one complimentary bag of braai wood. We enjoyed the layout of the park and the loops which gave us different views and animals. The picnic area (Jack's) was particularly well placed and absolutely pristine, from the braai picnic areas to the toilet facilities. A really good value pleasant stay.

Recently my family and some friends spent a weekend at Addo Elephant National Park. What a fantastic weekend. The ablution blocks were clean, the tent sites were neat and the staff were extremely helpful. We had such a good time, we are already planning the next trip. Thank you to all.

Sandra Willard

I accompanied an Irishman who was in South Africa for the first time. In 24 hours we saw an incredible amount of wild animals - nothing extraordinary - but which pleased him immensely. The elephant families were particularly pleasing.Given more time, we would have a much longer list.

Peter Knox

Our kitchen utensils allocated to our tent were incomplete. The stove assigned to our tent wasn't working properly. The alarming thing was that it was on even though off the the switch and this hadn't been picked up by the staff. I could feel the heat coming from the stove while pending down to get utensils from the cupboard below. The concerning issue was that a sewer pipe was overflowing for a day and a half before being attended to, and straight down towards our tent. It was raining though, which did make the repair a challenge. It is a beautiful park. I would like to visit again, in better weather. Most of the staff helpful and friendly.

Francesca Tong

Ons het die verblyf regtig baie geniet! Dit was ongelooflik lekker! Het baie diere gesien, en die diere is in regte goeie kondisie!! Ons sal def weer 'n trippie maak na julle!!

Tylene Coetzee

Once again, on our 3rd trip to Addo, we had close encounters with a number of elephants, all bulls this time, who came within a trunk's reach of our car. We were able to see quite close several black backed jackals, a number of kudu, lots of warthogs, and even a pair of genets, who visited us as we sat on our tented deck enjoying the dying light. The vision of two dozen egrets sailing down to alight for their night perch just opposite us was also quite thrilling. We have a number of quite good photos that we can add to this review if you so desire. Our only disappointment was the guided early AM tour, which did not go off the main road in search of more elusive game. We could have done the same drive, at no cost, in our own vehicle, and not frozen nearly blue. This was not good value for the 880 Rand we paid.

James Rodgers

The caravan park is beautiful and just the right size. What a lovely surprise. Can't believe that we stay in P.E. and this was our first time caravanning at Addo Elephant park.

Taljaard

I used to visit Addo in the 80's when I lived in the Eastern Cape with my late wife.It was beautiful to re-visit, and see the vast improvements.

Malcolm Hickman

Everything went smoothly.

Lambert

Forest cabin is very comfortable and well equipped, though fridge on veranda, in rain and cold v.uncomfortable. Kitchen well equipped and very well maintained. Even though disappointed there were no impala/springbok/giraffe/wildebeest on listed animals in the park I will be going back in November.

Percy Fiamingo

My wife and I had only an afternoon to travel around the park and didn't expect to see much. Well, we were very pleasantly surpised. The camp was nice (clean and modern), the service was friendly, the roads were well maintained, and we saw lots of game. Will definitely visit again.

Kit le Clus

Everything was great except we froze at night there was no heating.

R Wacks

Only 45 mins from Port Elizabeth we felt like we were in the heart of Africa. Fantastic sightings, awesome photos and really good value for money accommodation. Well done to San parks! We will be back.

Ray Lees

We had a lovely time - saw some 100 elehants in the short period we were there.

KAREL ENGELBRECHT

We stayed at the camp on the weekend of 13 July. We departed on Sunday. Two hours after we had left the park, my husband received a call to say that the cleaner in our cottage found his laptop and notebook and entire content of his briefcase in one of the cupboards. She returned it to the office and they phoned us. We collected it all on Monday! We sincerely commend the park's staff on their honesty and for all the trouble they went to to return the items. I definitely recommend this accommodation as they have restored my faith in people again. Thank you so much Vuyo and the cleaner in units 31 and 32.

Christine Maree

We always enjoy our visits to the "wild". All the personnel are very friendly. We love the newly added "Jack's Picnic Site". Must comment on the extremely neat and tidy restrooms at Jack's Picnic site - what a pleasure to stop there. We recommend that guests enter at the gate near the N2 at Colchester - this way you can drive through the park on your way to the main camp - and spot the animals. (That we did not do.) Went that way when we left. Once again we had no luck in seeing the lions...ugh! But did see a lot of other animals. Well worth it!

Addo Rest Camp is always improving and we love to go there. Only one draw back: the ablution facility! Please Addo, make it bigger and better, like the rest of the camp!

Andriaan Izak

The only issue I had at all was the very hard bed - but I do have back problems. Most people wouldn't have minded.Otherwise a lovely weekend

Fran Offerman

We stayed in one of the family cottages at Addo. Visitors should be aware that the cottages are very small - they say that 2 children can sleep on the sleeper couch, but it is just bigger than a single bed!!The rest is all very functional and we had a good stay.

Wendy Orpen-Lyall

I did not like the forest cabins. Could really be upgraded!

Esmarie

I was alone with my daughter, Jordin, 9 years old. We did a road trip of 11 days and 2033kms. Of all the places we stayed - Addo came out tops for accommodation, friendliness and value for money. The Cango Cave adventure tour came a close second for Jordin in excitement level. Thank you to all the staff, both Addo and the booking assistance. We will be back!

Lorna Fulford

From the moment we entered Addo Park until the moment we left we had an incredible experiience. The reception staff were very helpfull, the standard of accommodation was very good end the overall experience excellent

Pieter Vorster

This was a wonderful experience for the whole family. The site was first class and the staff friendly and very informative. We were spoilt with the wildlife every day and very sad when we had to pack up to leave on our last day. WELL DONE and THANK YOU. Sue and Drew

HiJust to let you know we had the one of the best getaways to Addo. The weather was freezing, the staff were warm....The animals didn't always come out to play, but we were lucky enough to see 3 lioness and a male eating their kill. The elephants are just incredible. Our kids enjoyed their stay, Domkrag is beautifully appointed and the water hole saw lots of animals coming through. The info centre is very informative and te Amarula at the shop is not too pricey! We would go back anytine(we live in KZN and the drive was certainly worth it). Thanks for the efficient bookings, we used our wild card too and had the best time.CheersFred and Rehna Wollentine

This was our first visit to Addo and we did enjoy it. The restaurant was pleasant and the service good. The cottage was adequate although one of the plugs did not work, but we were warm and cosy despite the freezing temperatures outside. The park has some lovely drives and it was particularly special as we had our grandchildren with us for their first visit to a game reserve, and they enjoyed it immensely. Just a pity we did not see as many elephants as we would have liked, and no cats at all, but that is just the luck of the draw, I know, but it would have been very thrilling for them as we are regular visitors to national parks locally and across the borders and are very keen for our grandchildren to discover the thrill of being out there in the wilderness with the animals. We will visit Addo again in the future.

Our family loves Addo. During our 3 visits to Addo we had a lot of fun and saw a lot of animals. When booking a tent site and you have big tents you must hope the few bigger sites are not taken before you arrive. You just might not be able to fit your tent into the smaller sites. I suggest you book a caravan site from the start, then you are sure that you can fit in everything on the site.

Lomon van der Vyver

ADDO Management and Staff - you are setting the standard for the rest - well done. Our 5 days in the Park felt like a month - did not want to leave. Plenty of Game , Birds and time to relax.Thnxs for an enjoyable stay.

Johann Claassen

Enjoyed the peace and tranquility.Elephant viewing first class.Reception staff and others very good. Accommodation excellent.

John Burdon

We enjoyed our stay. The cottage was nice, despite a few minor problems that you could maybe rectify for future residents : the shower leaks and wets the whole bathroom floor. The large stove plate did not work. The floor under the divan bed was wet (this was after heavy rain)These were minor problems and altogether we were very happy! We enjoyed the game viewing as always and saw lions for the first time in Addo Park. The staff was helpful and polite. Thanks for a great experience!

Elisabeth Talbot

Very good experience; excellent night drive with a very personable guide, Mfuni (spelling?). Accommodation good esp with overlooking waterhole. I did comment when we left that the heating did not work in the cottage and that there was an unpleasant smell when the cottage is shut up.

It is the second time we have visited Addo. The caravan site was very spacious and we had enough space for all our camping equipment. The bathrooms were always clean and is always nice to use. Having warm water to shower is also very nice. Addo is a small camp and therefore one can see a lot of annimals in a short period of time. We are all looking forward to our next visit to Addo.

Lomon van der Vyver

Hi our stay at Addo was lovely except the restaurant went there for dinner although staff was friendly and tended to our needs the quality of food was not up to standard. My worry is all the international people visiting Addo and what must they think. We ordered steak rolls and it was really horrible the meat was tough and soapy and at 68 rand not good. I suggest you look into your kitchen staff and get the standard of food jacked up. There was also no management on duty.

Antoinette Stockley

We had a really great time! Facilities were clean and very neat. The night drive was great. The street light on our camp site was left on all night. We would have preferred to camp without it.

A pleasant stay with friendly staff. I also thought the restaurant had reasonable "family" prices & meals to offer. Our accommodation was neat & clean. The water hole at the camp was devoid of game the 2 days we were there - but we did see plenty in the park.

Nice camp and animals are healthy

Ryan Moir

We all love it and decided to come back next year. There are so many animals to see and all of them are so healthy. We enjoyed our stay!!!

Carine Moir

We had a good experience and found addo a very clean, organised and well run camp. All staff were helpful and the service very good.Just a pity we saw no cats and did not know that there were no giraffe or cheetah. Also the number of lions in the park made it difficult to see.Well worth the trip and would do the same again with friends.

Bryan Martin

Wonderful experience. Staff were great and plenty of game. Thanks:)

Sue van Heerden

We did not see too many animals the reason could be of rain two of our three days. Some sand roads were poor after the rain. If possible it would nice to have a tuckshop or cafeteria at the picnic area. It would also be nice to have a restaurant at the bottom camp near the N2. We enjoyed our stay it was good and definately return again. The warm water every day at the showers needs 10 our of 10 points thank you for this.

Johannes Grobler

Enjoyed our stay at Addo and the park exeeded expectations. Will visit again. Thank you.

Herman Le Roux

I took the sunrise and sunset drive because they offer better opportunities to view rhinos and lions but I was a little disappointed because I couldn't see them. It was my first game drive so I was expecting a lot. Be prepared for the cold wind blowing across your body before sunrise and after sunset in the winter. The forest cabin where I stayed offered a warm place for my friends and I to stay in the cold night. I had a good sleep but the price was a little steep but it was convenient that the cabin was right in the park.

Toh Kay How

I want to thank Carien du Plessis at safari.com for outstanding service concerning our booking- she went out of her way to assist us!! Our chalet at the Addo was clean and comfortable. The fridge did not work but was replaced the same day.All the staff were very friendly and helpful. A overall very pleasant stay. Thank you

I. de Waal

We stayed in the chalets in the main rest camp.we were their 4 years ago also in the winter, and were very diappointed. We thought that we would give it another try, and were extremely disappointed. The furnishings are very tired looking. There was not one carpet or rug on the very cold floors. Especially on the sides of the beds. Our heater in our chalet was not working. luckily we had brought our own. The place is sorely in need of maintenance. The mat outside our door looked like a lion had eaten half of it. I am emabarrassed for tourists to see what is very over priced accomadation.

Shirley Myburg

Addo Elephant Park was beautiful and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. It is without a doubt one of the best Sanparks in South Africa

Colin Melville

Thank you for assisting us with our booking. I just thought that i did communicate that it is only my husband & myself, yet we were booked into a unit with a sleeper couch. I also asked for a unit with TV, yet we got a unit without in the "game viewing" area, but we had to stand on the wall of the stoep to see the game viewing area for which we paid R900 per night - would've appreciated the TV for relaxing during cold nights

We spent one night in Addo because we were in the area for a wedding. We did not see many animals but that did not detract from the lovely relaxed feeling we had on arriving there. The staff were, as usual, very friendly and professional. The accomodation was good other than the bathroom sliding door which was difficult to close. I did find though that the choice of food in the shop for an overnight stay was very limited. We had flown in from CT so were unable to bring provisions with us and prefered to self cater rather than eat at the restaurant. By 5:30 there was no bread or rolls. Thank you, once again. for a lovely stay at one of your Parks. We always know that it is a great expreience and look forward to our stay in the Kruger next month with friends from Australia.

Beryl Jooste

the elephants seem to have become scarcer in addo since you have enlarged it. and in all the time i have been (at least once a year for the last 10 years, we have not spotted the lions). but it is a very enjoyable experience and this does not stop us coming back.

The cottage where we stayed was clean and comfortable. But there were no pyrex dishes for use in the microwave oven. Also some small salad bowls would be useful for just two people. We also saw and avoided many dung beetles

Jeanne Marshall

Was stunning - friendly staff, great viewing animals in great condition - two small negative comments if I may - the pots in the communal kitchen were minus handles and the wheel chair type entrance to your deck of the safari tents (No 2) was so slippery after a bit of rain that I experienced a hard fall on the day of our departure cannot there be anti skid strips or something be fitted also I believe that they are a bit steep for the normal wheel chair visitor - BUT all in all the visit was a wonderful experience - Many Thanks

The caravan sites is above average. However the same cannot be said of the way Kudus are managed. Male species accounts for 80% of sightings compared to female and calves.

Whilst camping at Addo is very enjoyable , it is nice to be able to stretch your legs with a nice walk, most of the foreign visitors enjoy walking, you have a wonderful walk at Addo Zurberg, but very little information is offered at the camp about this hiking facility. People will stay on an extra day to include it in their visit.

We had an outstanding time. the chalets were comfortable, adequately furnished and serviced. The staff in all departments - reception, servicing, game drives, restaurant and shop were helpful and pleasant. We would love to return.

Had a great trip to Addo. In addition to the animals above also saw a caracal, black backed jackal, spotted hyenas, and spring hare. I think we were very lucky!

My husband and I and my 3 children spent 2 nights in the Forest Cabin. My brother's family was in the Safari Tent. The camp was beautiful, everything clean and well-organised and the staff very friendly. The cabins are private due to the spekboom hedges all around and we had a good view from cabin 9 of the hills in the reserve. My brother's tent directly overlooked the waterhole where they saw a rhino one night ! The park is big, however, so you can't expect to see lots of game all the time.

Maeve Hooper

Accomodation was fine, although expensive. Many animals were seen during game drives, notably elephant, buffalo and kudu; the roads are fine, the directions good and the scenery beautiful.Comments:1. Although there is a lot of general information on ecology, fauna/flora, geology etc., I could not get specific information on, e.g., present elephant numbers, the size of the areas in which they occur, the carrying capacity of the park, influence of elephants (and other animals)on the vegetation, strategies to prevent or control overpopulation. A leaflet with this kind of information will be valuable to many visitors.2. I was told at reception that there was no pamflet on Addo vegetation and that no trees were identified anywhere. I had to find out for myself that many trees on the PPC trail are identified and that there are posters with valuable general information on the trail. Visitors should be able to get better answers to their enquiries or should be directed to an office where game rangers are available to answer questions. A leaflet on the vegetation should be available and should include the names of all the more abundant plant species.3. On the game spotting map outside the shop Black Rhino is not included. Visitors should be given a reason for that.

We spent four wonderful nights at Addo National Park. Although extremely dry at the end of April, we were excited at having had the experience of being witness to a pride of three lionesses feeding off a Kudu they had just killed. We saw something of interest on every drive we took (even midday!)and will, of course, return again and again. Astrid Louw and Gay Le Roux, Cape Town

For SA citizens we felt the accommodation was a bit expensive - but very well appointed and serviced for those who can afford it.However, Julia is to be commended for her honesty (I had left my telephoto lens in the cottage). She represented Addo Nat Park admirably!Re sightings, we probably didn't spent enough time in the Park, but were happy with the Birding (for the time of year)

Dave / Megan Lowe

I was fortunate to see, on both days, a newborn elephant with its mother and sisters being so protective that it was difficult to see it clearly. I also witnessed a large hyena on the road next to my vehicle. A most enjoyable trip, including the comfort of staying in a Safari Tent, right on the game park fence.

everything was fine the guide was excellent however my experience with restaurant staff was awful a minor concern considering overall experience which was excellent. the so called takeaway chicken wings were no crispy as advertised they were possibly the worst cooked chicken wings I have ever tasted. no salt was in the bag so I had to go bacck from the chalet to get salt. ?the black manager thought it was a joke an unfortunately for him I speak fluent Xhosa and heard them joking about my complaint as I left. Being disabled the extra journey was not a joke to me.

Simply superb, stayed in both camps.

Nell Pretorius

It was GREAT. The Park was so green and the roads in good condition. The main rest camp well kept and improved in the year since our last visit. We were in the Kruger just 2 weeks before Addo, and you were as good IF NOT BETTER!! Saw lynx in Southern section, and fascinating interaction between elephants and wounded buffalo. Keep up the good work - see you in August.

Rosemary Robertson

This was our first visit and we were thrilled to see a variety of animals and birds. The Park is beautiful and animals in good condition. Unfortunately we did not see lion or leopard. We will surely be back!

Erika Jones

Hi, the stay itself was wonderful - accommodation was neat and clean with a lovely view. However, I am embarrassed to call myself a South African when you sit in the restaurant or outside eating space because of : a) really really bad service - we had to go find a waiter to help us each time; andb) the quality of food is horrific - oily, not attractively presented, bacon totally overcooked with old oil, hamburgers were tasteless, chips done in old greasy oil, tables dirty, glasses presented for cool drink dirty .. and the list can go on .... really really disappointing!

Ilje Nel

The caravan and campsites are not allocated but on a first come basis, so go to the campsite as soon as you can on arrival to setup and then go out again on your game drive.

Linda Murdoch

Our stay was very nice. The cottage was clean and well equiped. We found it disappointing Addo does not have a small book with information about the animals, birds and plantlife you encounter while driving around.

Although we only spent one night at Addo, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful and our chalets inviting, clean and comfortable. We saw a variety of animals from a goshawk catching a snake to elephants interacting and trumpeting at the Gwarrie waterhole. During our two days of game drives we took loads of photos and now relive the wonderful memories while we are busy editing and sorting through them. We will certainly recommend Addo to all our friends and overseas guests.

Nice weekend break. Park beautiful after rains. Cottage well equipped, clean and comfortable. Staff also organised. Only pity is the waiting list for available accommodation. Can't wait for next time.

We had an awesome time in Addo Elephant Park! The accommodation was clean and good value for money!Would highly recommend it!

We really enjoyed our stay at Addo Rest Camp. The service was very good. People very friendly. Somebody could have a look at the outside lights because it was very dark due to the garden lights not working. Next time I will remember to take my flash light. The verandah light was also not working properly. (Forest Cabin No. 2)Seeing forward to visit the camp with our children in December.Thank you for your excellent service.Hannie.

Impressed with information supplied at Main camp. Generally reserve very well managed

We also saw Caracal briefly. We had an amazing experience. Recommended trip to friends who are planning to visit Addo soon.

Clean and tidy, nice view from tent but very hot,the fridge was off and only realized that in the evening. Saw Hartebees that is not on the list. The staff are friendly.

Thanks for a wonderful experience. Our cabin was unbelievably clean, simple and perfect. The kids had a great time spotting the animals and we had many close encounters with the animals which were awesome. I will recommend to anyone without reservation. Even the muddy swimming pool with the frog felt right:)

Liesel Crafford

I found the accommodation pleasant with peaceful surroundings. I like the privacy of the bushes around each cabin. The game drive we went on was enjoyable and the staff that we came into contact with were all very friendly and helpful. We ate at the restaurant one evening, and found the atmosphere to be a bit lacking and would suggest that by playing music could change this to some extent.

Carole Botha

My 3rd trip and still more to happen. This time the shop rescued me, kitchen + medical + great frozen grub. As always cheerful and helpful staff. Except the petrol station does not accept credit card payments for petrol. Unexpected hiccup.

Percy Fiamingo

very happy with the layout of the campsite and the gravel which allowed the rain to drain away without the tent getting too wet

David Phillips

We had a lovely time! The service and overall experience was excellent, the staff friendly and helpful and the accommodation 5 star! We will most certainly be back!

Annemarie Rabie

We always enjoy camping at Addo National Park because their facilities are first class. The peace and quietness are an added attraction.

Great get away for a relaxing break, good roads, lovely waterholes and a lot of superb animals

We visited Addo for one night on our trip up the east coast to the Kruger Park and back via the Karoo. Although our time was limited we did manage a drive through the park and saw a reasonable amount of wildlife which included Red Hartebeest. Our accommodation was surprisingly good and well equipped. We also felt that the isolated situation of the Forest Cabin gave one the impression of being alone.

Johan Geldenheys

Brilliant - well maintained and great value for money - love it all and see you soon

Idyl Dreyer

We stayed only for one night, on route to Gauteng. It was very enjoyable and we wished that we could have stayed longer. The chalets were comfortable and clean. We saw lion. elephants and kudu in the game park on a short drive. The shop was a bit disappointing ---. The restaurant service was good and friendly---the food could be more imaginative. We loved the Addo camp and would defitnitely prolong our stay next time,

Overall excellent accommodation, great game viewing in very dense bush.On the negative side, there seems to be very little plains game.We tried to ask where the Rhinos hang out but ran into a brick wall.We asked several people who have taken the very expensive game drive option @ ZAR 270.- per head and after two morning drives and two night drives have seen no Rhinos either.I know that that this is not guaranteed, but after spending over ZAR 4300.- on the game drives one would expect that the rangers know where they are!!!I have a safari business and certainly know in Etosha, Botswana or Zimbabwe where what game is most likely to be found. All in all however a very worthwhile experience.Unable to attach pics. Pity have some very good ones.

Peter Kuhnert

Had a great trip to Addo. In addition to the animals above also saw a caracal, black backed jackal, spotted hyenas, and spring hare. I think we were very lucky!

maureen clapton

We were impressed with the roads, tarred aswell as gravel. Accommodation clean and comfortable. The staff very helpful and friendly, a pity we did not see the Rhino, Buffalo and Leopard - don't think there are any, the rest was enjoyable!

J.J. Bosch

What a wonderful stay we had. The chalets were beautifully appointed and clean. The fact that they were serviced was a bonus. We saw plenty of game and our stay was relaxing and very enjoyable. Our guide on the night ride, Ryan, was knowledgeable and informative.

Moira King

Game viewing was great, but the accommodation was disappointing. Unit was clean & functional which was great. But bed bases were missing slats leaving the mattress unsupported. Also all the Forest cabins appear to have great views, except for the central unit which we stayed in. Our view was of the surrounding cabins. Don't think it's fair to be charged the same but not to have the same view as the other units.

Addo is a wonderful experience, game viewing exceptional, cottage comfortable, but found the shop overpriced by local standards especially the curios.

Tim & Trish Kell

I was most impressed by the standard of efficiency of the staff when checking into the park and their friendliness. The standard of cleanliness of the whole park especially the public toilet facilities. The food in the restuarant was better than average. The waterhole and the educational centre at the main camp were also of a high standard. The underground hide needs some work on it as you look into a sandbank and cannot see the waterhole. The bird hide was very nice.Having been spoilt by the parks in the north there appears to be a shortage of game

Donald Thomas

We loved the cottage, the stunning view from the balcony, the braai, very much privacy and lovely designed. Everything we needed was in the cottage. It was a pity we only stayed 1 night. Also the park was beyond expectation. My only problem has been the entrance fee for the park which I paid twice, because the cashier told me my credit card didn't work, so I paid it also cash. After many telephone-calls and a fax I still didn't receive the double paid amount for the entrance. That's a pity..... Also it would have been better to inform tourists about the Wild Card. But for the rest: I will surely come back and buy a Wild Card.

An amazing visit - absolutely NO criticism. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The game drives were wonderful - the guides friendly, very informative and humorous.

Our trip was fantastic. Accommodation was good, restaurant excellent, service very good and our game drive with Ryan was brilliant. He was very informative and we saw hundreds of elephant and lots of other game.

We were very happy with the game we saw and the general camp amenities. We even thought the bedrooms and kitchen were better than Kruger Park which we stay at regularly but the bathroom was shocking, the shower was filthy dirty and the outside veranda table and chair could be a lot better (a feature should be made of this) - it was never cleaned and had bird droppings all over it. These 2 aspects of the unit need an upgrade and then you can really offer what you should especially for all the overseas tourists that frequent the park it is not a very good image!

Carol Bernitz

Forest cabin provided for a pleasant stay. Site/accommodation well maintained and communalkitchen clean & a pleasure to use.We enjoyed our stay and will certainly plan a return visit.

W H van Schaik

I have been to Addo many times. We always take our overseas visitors there. This was the best elephant sighting we ever had. We stopped at Harpoor Dam at about 7am. For the next hour, it seemed every elephant group in the park was making its way down to this waterhole to drink and splash about. Lovely. Would have liked to see lion and giraffe, but didn't this time.

Hard to believe their is such good quality and affordable game viewing on our doorstep, as we live in Port Elizabeth and normally travel up country to experience African Game Parks. Booked and stayed for 2 nights, but 3 would have been perfect as we ran out of time to do everything we wanted to. Because we left the booking of our holiday till last minute, we couldn't get a family unit for my family of 5 so we had to settle with 2 of us staying in a cottage and the other 3 in a chalet within walking distance away which worked out well in the end. Both accomodations were clean and well equiped with everything we needed. We visited the Restaurant the one night which we all thoroughly enjoyed and had a braai at the cottage on the second night. Meat, wood, fire-lighters, salad, etc., were all purchased at the shop next to the Restaurant. All in all a very pleasant and memorable experience.

We are from Cape Town,South Africa and were going on holiday to Durban and thought it fitting to break our journey up in Port Elizabeth. We wanted our children to experience nature particularly wildlife upclose and they were certainly not disappointed. I found that from the minute we arrived on the 1st oF January despite the park being extremely busy the park was well organised even though it was clearly functioning on maximum capacity. The front of house lady, quezette is extremmely efficient and knowledgable. We stayed in the chalets they were clean and well resourced. The following day my husband went on the 9am game drive with one of our children (we have a baby therefore we had to take the drives seperately) while I went on the 6am one with the other child. We both found that our game rangers were extremely knowledgable about both the park and animals. We would definitely recommend Addo, and are thrilled that we had such a close encounter with the magnificent elephants!

nazlie mohamed

We had a fantastic time. Accommodation was clean and comfortable and the aircon made a huge difference. Staff were pleasant and helpful. It was the highlight of our trip - traveled from Pretoria to the berg and then Addo to Plettenberg Bay and back to Durban.

Lil Marshall

The caravan site was clean, spacious and really well maintained. The staff were great, helpful and friendly. The waterhole in camp was great and the underground hide a brilliant idea. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, even the animals played their part!

bruce Mallinson

We stayed in a 2 person chalet. As was said on the website, it is basic but nice. It was very clean and everyone at Addo was helpful and friendly. The restaurant was nice, great option if you did not want to cook. I would go back and stay there again.

Margaretha Brand

We had a wonderful time in Addo .Place was clean and well maintained.

My consultant, who helped me all the way to get wonderful accommodation at the main camp in Addo. Sent all the relevant documents and all the information we needed. Will definitely book through this company again and will also recommend it to my friends.

I had a wonderful stay and will go back next year with a couple of my friends
