Viewing from the deck at Mopani is blocked by 2 trees close to the platform. please have them cut. Mopani generally well run.Good birds

RB Matthews

My family and I had a excellent holiday break, with a 5 star treatment, the staff and the place, everything was top class. I really recommend this camp and can't wait to start planning another trip there.

Mirjam Van Otterlo Verberk

Very happy with accommodation. Very pleased to discover that the Kruger shops in the camps now have a range of products for sale so that it is not necessary to do pre-arrival shop

Cynthia Eloff

It was our first return to the park in about 12 years. I was pleasantly surprised with the friendliness of staff, the accommodation was superb and the shops well stocked and very reasonable priced. must be yet again one of the best holidays I have experienced in my life. well done to all!!!

Francois

It was 41.5 degrees when we arrived, and climbed to 43 degrees at 7pm. The camp is well set out, with a spectacular view of the water from the bar deck. The heat obviously affected all the game, but we saw elephant and buffalo.

Billy Cochrane

We really enjoyed our stay at Mopani. It felt like a real holiday with pioneer dam overlooking our chalet and clean and neat apartmentThe kids loved the safe atmosphere and the pool was very welcoming at the end of a long day.We saw lots of lion, 60cm water monitor lizard and a metre long rock monitor lizardOverall, even though it was far from everything. It was a very enjoyable stay. And I won't hesitate to go back again.

tarynne lucas

The down side is: the camp is a little bit far for the center and not many animals around. However, the most friendly helpful staff and really clean nice environment around the camp!

IDAN KATZ

We stayed for 2 days and found Mopani accommodation to be excellent. The meals at the restaurant were great however the service was rather slow.

Andrew Else

Mopani is a smaller camp in the northern part of the park. Saw Lion, Cheetah and Hyena plus elephant, hippo, crocs plus all the bucks especially kudu, eland and water buck and luckily silver backed jackals. The camp was clean and quiet with great service.

Ross Smith

The park is in an excellent condition and the animals look good. Mopani camp is fantastic.

Louise van Wyk

Diane Robertson

Accommodation provided is absolute value for money and I would definitely recommend people to opt this tour.

Sasidhar G

Blissful! Stunning as always.

Noeline Bonner

Beautiful cottage with view over the river. The cottage was spacious and clean, but the entrance was somewhat far from the parking bay, which required quite an effort to carry in the luggage and food.

Sandra de Kock

Staff were friendly and helpful. Restcamp was clean, neat and comfortable.

Norris Fisher

Very happy to stay at Mopani. Great accommodation and fantastic swimming pool, very welcome after a long game drive. Restaurant very good food, service and of course spectacular view.

Dagmar

We enjoyed the stay at the mopani rest camp and we are hoping to come back. There's nothing bad which we have found about the camp. We also enjoyed the night drive at the park.

Vutlhari Phumulani

It is so wonderful to be in Kruger National Park. The service of high standard.

RISIMATI RECKSON SITHOLE

Very nice, every thing clean and comfortable. A bus full of people arrived and started singing for the rest of the afternoon(only negative comment).

Excellent hospitality from staff and cleaners, true value for money. will certainly call again soon!!

Pitso Masooa

Excellent accommodation, very well appointed and comfortable, Beautiful view. Staff were helpful, pleasant and well trained. The restaurant was attractive and the meal we enjoyed was very well prepared and presented.

Mike Sander

Would return here! More animals than we were told to expect, including two leopards, a bunch of tsessebe and Roan antelope. Highly recommended!

Kerry Davidson

Mopani rest camp with lake view is one of the best places to stay inside Kruger park. beautiful lake views with animals coming for water in the morning. one can watch crocodiles in the lake. beautiful birds too can be found. its neat, well equipped and comfortable.

Usha Athimakula

Beautiful setting and lovely dam in front of restaurant.

Michael Martin

Very clean park; lots of animals at the water holes around it; good restaurant.

Liliana Ivan

We were given a bungalow/cottage overlooking the river which was so lovely and scenic. The bird life around this cottage was wonderful as we had a baobab tree right next to the veranda. The cottage itself was clean and tidy and there were all the appliance you need for cooking. We really enjoyed our stay even though it was only for one night. We would differently stay there again.

Colleen Hampton

One of the best camps we have been to.

bernard goldman

Nice camp, lodge was situated very well. although the accommodation was clean (but little bit old), maintenance could be improved; e.g the bathroom became moldy.

Menno Hensen

Bungalos are very private and had a nice view of the dam.

Tobie Pretorius

Nice place to stay. Good house, clean. The manager was very helpful by solving a holiday problem.

MARCHEL VERHULST

Viewing from the deck at Mopani is blocked by 2 trees close to the platform. please have them cut. Mopani generally well run.Good birds

RB Matthews

We only stayed in Mopani for 1 night. The camp was good, house was ok. It was nice and clean, the shower was nice and hot. The a-la-carte restaurant food is really good! We didn't see a lot of animals driving up to this camp.

melanie Jong

We enjoyed our stay in Kruger park immensely! Hooked for life! Loved all the camps we overstayed. Can't wait for next time.

Noeline Bonner

Thank you we had a lovely stay.

Amy du Plessis

very well maintained! Lovely

Nicole Kok

Baie goeie waarde goeie kamp vriendelike personeel.

Willie Johannes De Witt

What a lovely guest house and the view was extraordinary!! Everything was just out of the book.

Ansie Kilian

Mopanie is 'n rustige kamp het baie lekker gebly sal weer gaan.

MARIAAN TERBLANCHE

What a nice experience!

ALTA ROUX

The stay was a good one: comfortable accommodation, clean and functional. The bunk bed was reversed so climbing on to the top bunk was hindered.......but on the whole good.

Anasuya Pal

Being our last camp to stay over it was a bit sad to leave. This was also the only camp that did not allow us to book in before 14h00 but the nice restaurant made up for the two hours wait. We will definitely go back again to the Kruger.

Ansie Prinsloo

Food is not up to standard - dissappointing and really embarassing if you take foreigners into account. Air conditioning in my room was not working properly. Ladies bar is pleasant and well furnished. Lounge is an impersonal and unpleasant space.

MARIUS BOTHA

Mariaan Terblanche

Good view from the chalet

OR MINNIE

Only one night, but privacy of the guest cottage and immediate surroundings is very enjoyable. As in other camps, staff are very helpful and friendly and cottage neat and clean.

JMW le Roux

The park is very different in summer to our normal winter visits. It is more peaceful and we enjoyed the park at a quieter pace. Our chalet was secluded and very quiet. The staff were great, everything worked in the chalet which was clean and tidy. We did not want to go home. Will try to visit again in August. Thanks Kruger, stay the way you are.

Alison Burden

The view was absolutely beautiful, looking as the sun set over the dam, hippos playing in front of us! Entertaining us with there snorts and little ears! Thank you

Riaan henning

Very nice clean accomodation and food actually available in a restaurant. Thank goodness we spent two nights in this camp and only one in the other three camps with no restuarants.

JOHN COX

Great Camp...with the best views ever!

Michael Luke

Overall, good service. Nice atmoshere in the camp.

Paul Nienaber

Good

ADRIAAN BASSON

Our stay was great. Mopani camp is well run. The Restuarant jut needs to jack up the service. Waiter battled to understand us and did not know what was on the menu.

Rene Rossouw

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip after our booking agent Tanya Lomas went out of her way to secure the camp we wanted. The bush was lovely, the roads are well maintained, the game is in spectacular condition - the only blight during our trip was the sorry state of the camp restaurants. Satara's restaurant used to be the highlight of our trip and we were sadly dissapointed at the state it is in. The restaurant at Letaba was out of stock of Castle and Coca-cola and could not accept a bank card. The Train restaurant at Skukuza is now being run by a foreigner (? - how is that possible?) and his people skills leave much to be desired. The prices at this restaurant are also totally over the top - once does expect to pay a premium but his proces are just ludicrous. However the restaurant and service at Mopani Camp was EXCELLENT! Take note though that the kitchens in the guest-cottages are only stocked with the bare minimum of crockery and I would suggest that if you are planning on braaing or cooking any casseroles, you should take your own pyrex dishes along.

SANDRA VANDERWALT

Exellent customer service.

Themba Zwane

Did not enjoy our stay. Family cottage that was given was under water, We gladly moved to another unit, but was told we had to move on our last day.. We are there to rest not to be moved around.. So we left our last day and lost a night. Dont think i will be back there in a hurry. Restaurant cannot cope with big volumes of people. The whole experience was not what i had in the previous times we were there.

NICKY CHAPMAN

We enjoyed staying in this camp, the problem was abt the guest cottage, it was too many for us cause it was two, wereas we were just six adults and two children

Ngwako Machethe

Letaba was very neat and very friendly staff

NICKY CHAPMAN

It is such a breath taking experience to venture into Kruger National Park. The reception is warm and you are treated to the royal style

Risimati Reckson Sithole

Hi guys, our stay at Kruger was freakin' brilliant, thank you!!! Mopani was the best. we were fortunate to see so much and the park is in really good condition. thank you for an invaluable experience! will definitely be back soon, very soon!!!

No TV's in the rooms, hidden costs like everyday gate fee and game drive.

Rumani Patrick

KNP stays beautiful, doesn't matter how many times you visit or what time of the year it is. We will keep on visiting at every opportunity!

Yolande

This is a very pleasant rest camp, it has all the comforts and more than you expect from a wilderness camp. Add a few more items to the menu and please explain what each item will include so you don't double order. Thanks for a pleasant experience!

Michael Calamia

My family and I had a nice time in Mopani rest Camp. The guest cottage was lekker and the receiption was good too. The only thing that did not impress us is the single beds in all the rooms - That was not ayoba! I mean how do you expect a couple to sleep in there?Game drive also disappointed us because we saw small things like rats, bets, camelion, etc. We saw all the big animals when we were driving around on our own. My expectation to pay these huge amounts for a game drive would be that it is guaranteed that you are going to see at least 3 of the Big 5.

Sydney Theko

Francois Oger

This was the camp we saw the least in

John Mcginn

This was the first time my family had ever stayed at Mopani. We loved the camp and its facilities. Loved the privacy of our hut, loved the fact that our kids had bunk beds in a separate area and that the unit could sleep 4. Our bungalow was spotless and perfect. The privacy of the surrounding bush was also fun. All in all, Mopani is now one of my favourite camps.Only suggestion would be to somehow provide more viewing areas of the beautiful dam. Thanks for everything though. Can't wait to return.RegardsKate

Mopani camp has beautiful surroundings, but customer service can improve. The maintenance in chalets & cleanliness can be a lot better. The restaurant was good but stock in the shops could be more efficient. Pool area was brilliant. Otherwise a very nice camp but could be exceptional with a few improvements. Replace toilet seats etc.

Gail Henry

The Mopani rest camp was amazing and a lot of fun, the camp and its accommodation was 100% and we enjoyed it a lot thanks. The only problem we have is that the menu of all the camps are the same and we think that it can be changed.

Juan Weidemann

Number 52 is the best chalet in Mopani, period!

Mike Usher

Loved going to the Park but wish they would upgrade the accommodation a bit at Mopani. There was no microwave, no toaster and all the furniture is very old!

Eloni Ludwick

The experience was unbelievable! We really enjoyed it! The Game Drives at night were superb and the food and service was amazing! Just need to be more strict about the music being played loud! There could be another pool to make it more enjoyable and not so cramped when its busy. Thank you for a lekker time! Looking forward to the next time I come there!

TJ Heesterbeek

Mopani camp is an undiscovered gem and is worth making the trip to the north of Kruger.

Lindsay Roots

It was a lovely stay.Thank you to the reception lady on the day of check-in, who allowed us to occupy the cottage earlier. She was very helpful and kind.

Casper Mare

Please note that it is the fourth time we are visiting the Kruger Park since 1993. Accommodation was perfectNight Drive was perfect. We noticed a serious decline about the quality and the service regarding the restaurant (breakfast and dinner) -

We had a wonderful time in the Kruger Park. We have seen the Big Five, that's wonderful. And so many other animal. Our time in the Restcamp were very good, we had good rondavels. And we were very happy with the good aircons because it was very warm during our stay.

Eddy & Jannie Van der Werf

Overall we enjoyed the beauty of nature. We had minor glitch...the exit permit was issue with the date we arrived at the camp instead of the date of departure, luckily the personnel at the exit gate were understanding.

Sello Seoka

An amazing camp - by far the best pool area - only complaint was the TV wasn't working in the restaurant, therefore we couldn't watch the rugby

Pendray Banks

WE REALLY REALY ENJOYED EVERY MOMENT - SPECIALLY MY 80+ OLD PARENTS. THE GUEST HOUSE IN MOPANI WAS THE BEST TREAT EVER! WE ALWAYS ENJOY MOPANI BUT THIS WAS SPECIAL. THANKS

My stay at the Kruger was very nice, I am planning to visit again sometime next year.

Elias Sefoloshe

The bungalow was exactly as described and met our needs very well. Despite the strike the restaurant at the camp was running and our food was very good. Facilities for braaing and the offerings at the store meant other meals were good too. We saw 11 different varieties of buck, 17 other animal types including 3 of the big 5.

Debra Wason

The walk was extremely interesting and a wonderful experience. We did not see any of the mammals but our guide had set those expectations correctly before we set off so no complaints, although it would have been nice to see some.

Debra Wason

very good value for money

For a reunion with our South African family, Mopani proved to be a great place(see above rating)... Only slight complaint was a smelly drain right outside our house (97) which was immediately attended to and rectified.

Michelle Hopkins

Layout of camp and chalets - very good. My husband battled with the steps from the verandah to the braai. The people who worked in the camp were charming. Roads were excellent in the park. Will definitely come back to Mopani.

Jennifer McCallum

There is only one Kruger Park - it was really great. Many gravel roads need grading and the chalet we stayed in was not clean and needs upgrading.

Alastair Cormack

We were told that the gates close at 6pm. we planned our trip to arrive at 6pm since we had to first report at work. It turns out we were not allowed to drive in the park after 6pm. this means that we had to pay R1000.00 in order for the ranger to escort us (that is not fair!). I suggest you tell people to be at the main gates at least 1h30min BEFORE the main gates close in order to be there on time.Fortunately, a lady in the Mopani camp was able to help us so that we do not forfeit our money as we could sign in on the 23 Sept 2011.The sunset drive was ok, we didn't see much. We saw more driving ourselves than in the sunset drive. The park itself is relaxing BUT please upgrade Mopani Camp. It is NOT AS MODERN as it is advertised (it is rather dingy and the bedding looks old and overwashed). The restaurant looked nice (although we didn't eat there).Overall it was ok. I might come back but this time to a camp that has better driving routes.Regards, M

I would like to sincerely thank Mopani rest camp and their wonderful staff for the best restful weekend I have had in a long time. It was my moms 50th bday celebration and it was absolutely wonderful!! THANK YOU.

Overall the cleanliness and staff attitude was commendable. One problem is no light source at the braai - this is a major problem when you wish to braai after sunset! If you have no torch it is a frustrating time spent peering at wors and chops, not knowing if they are done!Shop had enough of everything you may need and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Gustav Hauptfleisch

Check-in is slow but very friendly and charming personnel. Accommodation excellent, clean and more than adequate. Comfortable. A lovely camp to stay at.Amazing leopard sighting in big dead tree at turnoff to Mopani Camp. Most memorable.

David Johnson

The accommodation at Mopani is unbelievable. The building where we stayed was soooo comfortable. The way the buildings are placed made the "bush" experience very authentic. We also stayed in Hazyview Cabanas to see the south of the park and that was where we saw the Lion, Rhino and Leopard. We saw very beautiful birds int the north and the south of the park.

Accomodation was great value for money, the game veiwing was wonderful and we were very lucky to see the animals that we did. At a water trough a Hyena was hiding in the water waiting, some Warthog were nearby on their way to the water, when a lone male lion came running towards the main water tank where some other warthogs were drinking, the hyena moved off very quickly, the lion missed the warthogs at the tank, but the other warthogs ran behind the lion. This seemed odd to me, any idea why?

Alison Burden

Thanx a lot!!!!! We will be back!!!!!

I was very impressed, but wished I could have stayed longer and seen some of the predators. Anyway, next year my mom and I are planning to come and visit the Kruger again. Thanks and regards, Isabel

Isabel Watson

Great view of the pioneer dam; the accommodation was ok.

R. Maharaj

I,and my family had a wonderful time at the Mopani camp in the Kruger. It was our first time in the northern part of the Kruger and it made us want to come back again and again. It was very clean. We went up to Punda Maria and enjoyed the scenery and animals.I still have not seen a Lion or Leopard, so I will not rest until I have seen all The Big Five, and we will come back soon. Thanks to the staff at the different camps, they are always very nice.

Christian Vyamungu

We had a wonderful experience in the Kruger Park. It was our first visit and definitely not the last. Our complaints are the lack of steak knives, a grater and coffee mugs. Otherwise a fantastic holiday. We heard the lion in the area but did not get to see any. Many thanks

Karen Bedford

A light at the braai area would be nice to have, otherwise everything was well.

Dawie Pretorius

One get the impression that the general "upkeep" is slippingFor instance loose fly-screens; loose hinges on windows, missing levers etcWe stayed in Mopani camp Guesthouse No 9I would imagine you pay more for the view over the dam. Unfortunately the natural vegetation is minimizing this view??In general this overgrowth is a major problem along all the river viewpoints. +90% has no view any more. Thanks

Harold Daniel

Had a good time for the one night we were there. Staff very helpful to fix a couple of small problems we had. Overall satisfying, without being spectacular. Maps are out of date!

Paul Krynauw

Stayed in the Shipiweni bird hide. Great experience. Pity you don't get to spend more time there.

Deon Boshoff

Bungalows great value. Camp very well appointed. Staff fantastic. Saw less game. From the river loops on the southern end of the camp, looking straight down from the river bank, saw plenty of enormous tiger fish swimming in the pools of water below, together with, it would appear some form of yellow fish. Was surprised by the tigers in that river.

Reinard Michau

I was very impressed with the accommodation, the price I paid was rather cheap and I was expecting "a cheap room" we stayed in Mopani, the camp was fantastic I would go again!

Mopani restaurant very good.

Lara van Rooyen

The guest cottage was very comfortable and we had a lot of privacy and were beside the pool. Not good selection of food in restaurant - only fast food.

Elaine Grunow

Yeah sure other rest camps have restaurants overlooking the water, but Mopani's layout is far better. The camp is perfectly situated to enjoy a sundowner at one of three bars (two outdoor!) overlooking the dam while the sun's reflecting is kissing the water. Yes you do become a romantic over nature after visiting Mopani. My second time there and still by far the best rest camp. Everything is neat and receiving service with a smile is always welcome. Well done on renovations!

Marc van Niekerk

The stay therein was a wonderful one esday s' rest finding a pecially for a South African citizen who needed to rest and end up finding it where nature is reserved.

William Madzinge

What an awesome time in an awesome camp. The bungalow was exceptional, no 52, with the best view. We took our Australian family with, their first time in SA. We realized that we do not appreciate our country like we should. We really enjoyed every minute, saw the big five!!! Awesome !!!! Thanks for a lovely visit to Kruger.

Martie Koen

Wonderful stay, facilities excellent, clean andserviced. Will most definitely return

MIKE LOBLEY MO120125

Booking good organized - Mopani camp altogether perfect, except restaurant - food is not to recommend

Trautwein

Although the camp is pristine and very well kept, the international group (Italians to be exact) across from our chalet were noisy and inconsiderate late into the night. In fact they missed the lions roaring completely by their loud shouts and accompanying music. We will not stay at such a large rest camp again - bush camps all the way for us.

Alan Crowther

We had a terrific stay at Mopani - the sunset drive with Able was very informative and fun, even though we did not see the animals (lion, hyena and wild dog) we really wanted to see (thanks for your efforts Able). The chalet was spacious, nice and clean and the view from unit 11 over the Pioneer's dam was spectacular - pity we could only spend one night there.

Michelle de Villiers

Good cottage (everything worked); it would help to have a kettle. Staff in the restaurant slow-moving, but manageable. Good view of the dam. Vicinity: teeming with big cats (3 male lions, 2 cheetahs, leopard 2 x), v. impressive. Day trips to Letaba and Olifants provided us with their river wievs, without having to live in the overcrowded and overrated camps. Extend the restaurant menu - after 4 days, you've had it all. Overall - v. good.

Dr L S Kowalski

I brought a Welsh guest to see Africa for the first time and we eleceted to go North to see the Tropic and also the buffaloe. We were not disappointed. It would be nice if the game drives and walks were shorter, particularly in the evenings when the use of electronic flash equipment on cameras ensures that no game will be seen. The facilities were great (in comparison with the reviews) and the restaurants were also good. We'll definitely be going back. The Leopard was as elusive as ever and we assumed you had the rhino well out of harm's way. Having seen Lion and Rhino before reaching the park, we were well satisfied.

Peter Loudon

The accommodation is very basic. The linen is old and didn't feel crisp and clean. The cottages are very close to each other and there were just too much human traffic. It sounded more like a busy holiday resort rather than the wilderness. I heard cars driving by and voices throughout my sleep. The pool area and the thoughtful walk is polluted by the smell of sewer or septic tank. If it wasn't for the beautiful baobab trees, Elvis our game ranger, and the beautiful view of Pioneer Dam with its bird and aquatic lives. Mopani Camp would have been a really unappetising wilderness experience.

Munying de Lacy

Hi I consider myself very fortunate to have got a booking at Mopani Camp as I booked very late and still had to change the date once. Our stay in the Kruger was absolutely fantastic. As we were just passing through on route to Mozambique we were very lucky to see all that we saw. What amazed me was the huge herds of Buffalo that we saw. Our stay at Mopani camp was very pleasant and we enjoyed every minute we were there. The camp is very neat and tidy and service levels are really good. Next time I will definitely stay for a few days. Many Thanks Grant, Dee

Grant Van Der Walt

Enjoyed the camp. The sunrise drive was disappointing - very very cold and nothing to seeThe Bungalow need serious maintenance.

AJ Fourie

Excellent camp facilities would love a bungalow with a view next time!

Lydia van Heerden

The spacious bedroom is very pleasant!

Els Nijman

The stay at the Mopani Rest Camp was very lovely. The people was very helpful and friendly. And every day our bungalow was making clean I will love to stay there again.I just want to say that the resturants at all the different camps was not on standard. They don't have all the food on the menues and at one of the camps we visit their mugs for coffee was finishes so we get paper mugs to drink out, very bad for a restaurant. But Mopani camp itself was excellent. Thanks

Carel Booysen

Great experience.

Did not have towels available at check in tame. Only received it at 17h30. We had lunch at the restaurant. Could not pay with card as machine was out of order.

We always visit Nwanedzi picnic spot, and there are NEVER enough tables. Visitors mostly have to stand and wait for people to leave, and get frustrated with the poor manager. There is anough space for double the number of tables!! When we were there, there were only 5. There are a lot of green plastic chairs but more could also help.

PROF BIRGIT KUSCHKE

This was one of the most fantastic holidays EVER! Loved staying at Mopani. See you again next year!

Kate Morris

We had a great time and the chalets were very well serviced.

Nice bungalow - pity we could not stay 2 nights due to our trip planning down to Sukuza

There was a lot of leaf on the mopani scrub but we still saw a lot. The accommodation at the camp was excellent. The staff enthusiastic and helpful. The bird life fantastic. We just love the northern part of the Park. The picture is of a Grey-headed Bushshrike killing a Free-tailed Bat, just one example of the treasured moments on this trip.

My husband and I took our 3 grandchildren to Mopani oh boy it was fantastic. The staff are friendly and the cottage was immaculate. Nicest of all was no bed making and no dishes it was all done for us.We were so lucky to see Leopards and Hyenas on the road. I left my grandsons camera on a pole outside the Gift shop and to my surprise when we went back to look for it, it was handed in to the shop, and in these times that does not happen very often. Mjopani was a super camp and will definitely go back there. Thank you

Mrs E Kriel

I found the chalets very grubby and dirty was not impressed at all

Of all the camps visited on this trip, the reception here was the best. We were greeted with a smile and made to feel welcome. Accommodation was excellent and clean. Our bungalow did however show signs of a lack of maintenance (taps not secure, shower rose broken, door to geyser not secure).the restaurant was the same problem as before. although we did not eat there we did have a something to drink the one evening and enjoy the view, there were again some guests who were not able to order what they wanted as it was "unavailable"Sorry for all the complaints but i feel very strongly about not allowing rot to set in. we should be proud of what we have and should look at constant improvement and deterioration as we find in most of our cities and towns.

There were some small things that I would just like to bring under your attention that was outstanding in the rest camp. There are no microwave to heat up or defrost food. There are no braai tong, only an braai fork, and one can not turn wors with a fork. Nr 2 bathroom had very poor water pressure. There are no light at the braai area. There are also no sharp knifes for our meat. We did take our own steak knifes, braai tongs and torches with. The main idea is that the camp must provide these items and that one pack as little as possible and travel as light as possible. That is why one pay so much for a challey. The main entrance door was also not opening completely, because it was scratching against the floor. We did take our own braait Outside the camp the bushes are to thick and the chance to see animals through the bushes are very slim. We did travel most of the times to Lethaba where we saw more animals. We also entered and exited at Orpen gate. In Satara area we saw much more animals. We were tired of all the traveling after our vacation, all because we had to travel to different areas and leave camp early, only to see animals in another area.

Heinrich Jansen

What a fabulous time we had! The bungalows were superb, immaculate condition! The staff were friendly and very helpful, the camp sites were well kept and the plenty animals were plentiful. Overall well enjoyed! Will definitely call again!!!!!!

3 taps in the unit was leaking water and 1 room had a lightbulb not working. The drain in the additional bathroom was overflowing daily. The experience in the Kruger is always very special but the accomodation needs attention. The staff at Mopani especially at the bar area was outstanding and so was their food.

Daniel Lamprecht

When we arrived, the chalet that we were allocated, didn't have the beds made. When they reallocated us a room, it was right next to the reception area and wasn't as nice as the first chalet

Anthony Parker

The receptionist charged me a day visitor rate for driving from Phalaborwa gate to Mopani camp, I was under the impression that because we were staying at the camp that this would fall away as we weren't day visitors? She said that when we reached the gate at Pafuri we would be charged the day visitor rate again... this didn

Great stay overall!. One small problem, found one of the bathroom light fittings defective which was rectified within an hour of our arrival.

It is always good to stay at the Kruger Park and this time was no exception. We were hoping to see more birds but were a bit disappointed, but perhaps it was the wrong time of the year.

We enjoyed staying at Mopani. It is rather large but the huts are well placed in the bush and there is a good view from the bar. Some guests made rather a lot of noise which you could hear from our rondavel. The rondavels are well done with the cooking area outside and lots of birds coming for scraps.

Ian goldman

Nice walk - not many animals but good to be in the bushveldt. Guides were knowledgeable but could have said more about the small things. Good flexibility as it was raining early and they agreed to move walk later. It is rather expensive though.

We stayed two nights at the Mopani Rest Camp. The facilities are in good condition, and the bungalow were very clean. Will definitely use Mopani Rest Camp again. Will use Mopani camp again.J Swart

Our stay was very nice, the only problem that you can work on is your restaurant. No Value for Money. The food was terrible. You Pay R135 p.h for untasteful food. Will never eat at Mopani again.

Mopani Camp was the by far the best camp that we stayed at.Sadly there was too much bush which mean't that we didn't see very much in the way of animals. The food at Pretorius Kop and Mopani Restaurants was not good at all.Overall we had a lovely time. Staff were all very efficient. Facilities were very good and very clean. We will be back but in September next time.

You might be deceived into thinking the camp is boring when you drive in. But wait till you check into a bungalow or cottage overlooking the dam-then things begin to happen. Wake up at dawn and enjoy mother earth waking up-it is splendid! I will visit again as I have always done.

Mopani is an underestimated rest camp. The accomodation is very comfortable, restrant and shop are above average with reasonably prices. Most importantly for us is the quality of the people. Even during a time of industrial action they were very friendly and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. A highlight was during a morning walk, inside the camp, we came across a buffalo within 10m on the other side of the fence. A reminder that we are in "their"space. thanks for a great stay.

Gravin Phyfer

We had cottage number 10 in Mopani - supremely beautiful view of the lake with hippos and crocs floating by all day.

When we got at Mopani, our first Bugalow had a dripping geyser. They then moved us to a bat infested bungalow. My son could not sleep on the top bunkbed because the batdung was dripping on him. When we ate at the restaurant almost nothing on the menu was available and those left were almost inedible. We were very disappointed because we came far for that visit.

Ons was baie vriendelik verwelkom by Orpen hek! Dankie

We had a brillant time ! We did both the sunset drive and the night drive both were fantastic we will definitely be back . Camp was a good location not too busy !

I would like to come back to Kruger when I can be able to see some cats. I was not able to see any cats, only buffalo and a few elephants. I am told that one should visit the Satara camp as it is an open hunting ground for Lions at least.

A few days in the park is always good for the soul. Mopani Rest camp is well equipped and met all our requirements.

This camp is to overgrown. Restaurant good and fast. Shop not very good. Bought cooldrinks that was past the expiring date. Staff friendly.

Accommodation was very nice - clean & modern with everything we neededThe reception seemed a bit slow to me perhaps they need to modernise the check in system

Julian Burch

We stayed at Mopani for 2 nights in a cottage, it was very clean and well equipped. The shop was more than adequate and open at reasonable times. The reception was quick and efficient. We had a great time on the night drive and saw some smaller cats. As the title says it was a wonderful experience!!

We enjoyed it very much : your staff was friendly and helpful. We saw a lot of animals (lions, rhinos, buffaloes, kudus, monkeys, crocs, hippos, many species of birds, and even a big Nile monitor in Mopani. Very impressive !Its our second time in Kruger Park and we do recommend it to our friends in France. We also really enjoyed the rest camps : very clean and convenient.

The stay therein was a wonderful one esday s' rest finding a pecially for a South African citizen who needed to rest and end up finding it where nature is reserved.

When I booked the accomodation, I was informed that there was no open places with 2 bedrooms available. Guest house 90 was open. The cottage for 4 adults are not very comfortable.

Camp facilities compared with others we stayed at but the restaurant food was far better prepared and presented and lower priced than satara - compare the menus. staff at mopani were friendlier and more attentive to your needs.
